Of course after posting the question the clamp slides off enough to pull the boot back. Is there enough grease in this CV? Would the lack of grease be enough to cause clicking during a tight slow speed turn when under power?

How do you undo or remove this kind of clamp without damaging the boot? I want to check the CV and or add grease and do have a spare narrow  gear drive clamp.

I have 9/16 (pretty sure they are fine thread) studs and aluminum wheels. There are flat washers with a concave side to mate to the cone end of the lug nuts under the lug nuts. The lug nut torque chart I found says 135 foot pounds for 9/16. Does this stay the same or get reduced for aluminum wheels?

Short of bringing an entire car worth of spare parts what are the must bring spare parts to save the trip? To clarify these would be spare parts or supplies to repair the sandcar while at the dunes in case of a break down and kept in the trailer not things to be carried in the sandcar.

I misspoke, the wheels have sand limo milled in the beadlock ring. I can’t remember who Joe said they were made by. 

How many inch or foot pounds do you torque the ring bolts to? Sand Limo brand wheels for reference. 

Is SFI or non SFI better for protecting (as best as either could protect) non helmeted head to roll bar impacts? Some of the reviews stated that the SFI types were very hard.

@Rockwood , is it acceptable to remove the steel sleeve and use a larger bolt with washers on both ends of the rubber bushing or must the supplied steel sleeve be used?

How many inches between your head and the roof / rollbar do you like to have to feel safe to not wear a helmet? Or under how many inches of clearance would you wear a helmet?
