my wife has always had the higher end E class, E55, E63 NA motor and now has the E63 twin turbo, but we are getting older now and time to downgrade

she just puts tons of miles on her car. The current one has 180k! and has been really a fantastic car. but its time to get a newer used version

her current car is 2014 E63

looking at 2018/19 E43 twin turbo v6 models rated at high 300 HP range or the semi Hybrid 2019-2022 E53 with the new inline 6 cylinder. it has a 48volt mini hybrid to help acceleration before turbo comes in

any input on someone that has owned any of these cars. My Mercedes techs i know like the E43 but most have 60-100k i like the E53 myself but hear they have some issues with mini hybrid, battery and wire harnesses

crazy but the new 2025 E53 is an inline 6 doing 604 HP crazy. the 2019-2022 e53 get mid 20's mpg which is cool for how many miles my wife drives. her current car is probably 16mpg

I think you have about the last year of quality put out by MB. Hate to say it but I feel the MB quality has gone down hill. My wife used to run them over 200k miles and keep them for 10 years. Our last MB was a CPO 2016 GL550 with a twin turbo v8, didn't make it 85k miles before it went south. Turbo cooling lines cracked (plastic) $6k repair, multiple ac failures, 90% of the suspension bushings shot by then, motor mounts, transmission mounts, diff mounts all were all shot by 85k miles, leaked oil like an old VW. Her previous MB cars usually needed motor mounts between 130-150k and an occasional suspension bushing. To many plastic parts now and poor quality rubber. Was really disappointed in this last one. Replaced it with a GMC Yukon.

We have a 2014 ML350 BluTech.

It's had a couple of issues, that I've fixed myself, but it still drives like brand new.

The rentals we received at the dealership, sucked azz!!!

I think @1tonfun might be right.
