Anyone on GD running “Baja” trailers? I’ve started seeing a few around Gordon’s Well and they look tempting. Curious what people’s experiences are.

I’ve looked at several and have thought about having a new trailer built. Not to the size & extreme as the ones you showed. I personally liked things about the Yiro over the Vimetel trailers. For one look at how both build the tongue hitch rails of the two brands. The two hitch rails on the Vimetel butt weld to the front main rail of the actual trailer. But on the Yiro the front two hitch rails go under the main rails of the trailer and spread to the ends of the side rails. This gives more weld surface but also puts the weight of the trailer deck more evenly on the hitch rails, unlike the Vimetal trailers that butt weld to the front of the trailer deck.

Also for me and what I was looking to build, Yiro was more willing to build to my wants and was not billing every part as special or custom. Like I wanted an adjustable hitch ball like the trailers shown in the pictures in post 1, but the basic trailer they build just came with a 2 inch welded ball hitch. Yiro was like ok we can change that out, where Vimetal was itemizing each change request as a custom part or fabrication and the price was more.

Fractal, Vimetal, and Yiro are the only ones I’ve been able to find so far. Any other brands out there that market trailers like these?

I don't have one of these, but I modified my Carson with a similar platform because the buggy is too wide. The raised platform has made for great storage underneath of it for a crapload of items, especially things you don't want inside of anything like firewood and smudgepots.

This is exactly what I’m thinking I might do. Do you have a picture of yours?
