Mexican Navy ship hits bridge

The fact they were parading around with the biggest Mexican flag draped off the side makes it all even funnier. F-ing clowns.
Yeah when i first saw the video i just thought it was some borachos partying on a boat wash style. Giant flag; you can hear the mariachi music blaring in the video. pretty sure it happened around 3amIMG_9038.jpeg

They were looking for wash 6!!

How did 2 die??
Watch the videos. They were acting like there was a circus onboard. There were a bunch of doods standing and prancing around up in the sail rigging in the masts when it hit the bridge. Many fell. Im sure some hit the water and some hit the deck

So the working theory is that the reversing propeller failed. The tug pushed it out into the channel, relocated to swing the ship around at the time the ship was supposed to go from reverse to forward.

Guess I'll be the Debbie Downer in the group on this one. A lot of countries still have Tall Ships that cruise the world which I think is pretty cool. The fact that some young Mexican kids doing some cool shit, dying and getting injured ,is worth joking about seems a little odd to me.

Lived in a navy town my whole life. Never seen the aussies, french, british, japanese, russian, chinese, or any other serious military force put on such an over the top display.

Where was the command structure? Are they trained to hold their choreographed dance positions while sailing into fixed objects? Was anyone making any attempts to save the ship? The whole episode comes off as a joke, dont be shocked when the crowd laughs.

Most navy’s tall ships like the uss constitution (first sailed 1798 and even played a major role in war of 1812) are historical relics and floating museums. That coast guard ship began service i the 1930s. This ship was launched in 1982. Fyi; this isnt the first time this ship has hit a bridge while sailing abroad

Additionally, the wind and the river current pushed it straight into the bridge. That Tug had no chance, with no line.
