so earlier this year we had a great private baja trip from Tecate to bay of LA and back about 1000 miles
first night i hit a huge hole i didn't see and tweaked my front bulkhead badly, bent an inner tie rod, steering wheel was 90 deg from straight and a massive pull, first day of 7 yikes
anyways when you see the part of me chaining my car to a tree i was hoping to pull the frame back some, what you didn't see is i did it so hard i broke a massive chain in half. the next morning i cut one of the four main bulkhead tubes hoping it would spring back--nope. long story short is i pulled it apart with huge come along and then inserted a 1/4" thick disc and welded the frame back together it was 50% better, later in the trip my inner tie rod broke and had to McGuyer it to get home (i was 500 miles south of border when it happened
when you see the part with the sawzall is my buddy with a 2023 Polaris with huge cast aluminum arms broke an upper ball joint, i had a spare can am one with me but the hole needed to be bigger, so he let me take a sawzall to his $3-400 upper arm to fit the ball joint. if he didn't his car would still be out there and left because where we were would take days to get the parts and install them correctly all while he spent multiple nights out there. it was the better of the two evils
