talking tariffs and taxes.
Last week i was in columbus, and was talking to a guy in the liquor dept at the groc store, and how ohio controls the cost, and inventory, store doesn't pay for it until it scans thru the register. I was comparing the retails between okla and ohio. I couldn't believe how much cheaper they were in ohio. but they have a slew of rules and regs a mile long, they deliver, they control what you get, they divide out the brands, bars can't buy from stores, etc. etc. Johnny walker blue label was about 75.00 a bottle cheaper than okla. crown was like 19.99 here its 45.00
A carton of marlboro reds in okla is 100.00, in ohio it was 49.50
I know we have a "sin" tax here, and a tobacco fund thats in the billions for people to stop smoking that just continues to grow, but man, i really wonder some times what if we just didn't have to pay tax/tarriffs and all the add ons, what something really would cost in a store lol.
