I have an older Ranger 700 XP that we use around the house and cruise around the desert in. It is great! Cheap fun for us and the kids. Will drag the road with it, head to the river, check the mail, whatever. A couple of months ago we were on our way home from the "neighbors" about 5 miles away and it started running weird. When I let off the gas pedal, it would keep accelerating. A little sketchy. Made it home, let it sit for a couple of days, then took it to the mail box. It ran fine for a min or two, and then sure enough, it happened again.

Fast forward to now - lots of rain today, road could use a drag, I pull the thing out after it sitting all summer. I knew it would probably still act the same, and it did. Pulled the fuel pump out of the tank, just to check. Seemed fine. Checked the throttle cable, didn't seem to be hanging up on anything. Don't really know what to do or check next, but the thing just revvvvvvvs like crazy and I would like to stop it haha.

Any tips or leads for me? The thing seems pretty simple to work on and I am not too scared dig into it to a certain point. Just don't know what do try now. Thanks all

Update - the carb boot tore completely in two when I grabbed it, looking for loose connections or splits in anything. Ordered a new one that should be here early next week. Hope it is that, but I won't be able to trouble shoot until then. If I have time tomorrow I will clean the carb out and check a few other things like that, too.

@Stinky - I have no idea and honestly don't even know what that is! Is there an easy way to tell?
