I finished the Bible today.
January 1, 2025 → December 31, 2025.
And I can honestly say… this wasn’t about checking a box or saying I “did it.”
It changed me.
Reading the Bible cover to cover put everything into perspective.
It humbled me. Convicted me. Grounded me. Healed parts of me I didn’t even realize were hurting.
What people don’t realize is following Jesus isn’t about religion. It’s not about rules or being perfect or looking holy. It’s about relationship. Obedience. Surrender.
Putting Him first, even when it’s uncomfortable.
I didn’t grow up knowing Jesus. I went to church with my aunt when I was a young girl, but I didn’t understand or comprehend. As a teen and and adult, I didn’t believe.
I actually thought church was kind of a cult.
I thought people who read the Bible were judgmental, extreme, or just “religious.”
That’s all I had ever seen. And don’t get me wrong, some of them are. Some of the most judgmental people I’ve ever met act holy on the outside.
But now I understand…
Religion pushes people away.
Jesus changes people from the inside out.
When you stop trying to figure everything out and just walk with Him, things shift.
Doors open. Some doors close.
And you realize the peace you’ve been chasing in the world was never there to begin with.
Tomorrow I start again. Genesis 1–3. Day 1 of 365. Not because I have to, but because I want to. Being in the Word daily is part of my everyday routine. It’s a nonnegotiable. I fit my day around Jesus, I don’t fit Jesus into my day.
If you’ve ever been curious… hesitant… or felt like you didn’t “fit” the church mold, you’re not alone. You don’t have to have it all figured out to start. You just have to be willing.
“Come, Lord Jesus.”
I have a handful of people starting it with me tomorrow. I would love for you to join also. This is my invitation to you.
