Subi 2.0 to 2.5?

I’m trying to help a buddy get back to glamis his car is currently a n/a 2.0 and last season it started blowing white smoke bad. He got a smoking deal on a 2.5 subi long block. My question it will his current ecm and wire harness work?

Guy in our group went from a 2.5t to 2.0t with just a retune I believe. All wiring and sensors are the same.

Yes as long as you swap or have the same crank /cam gears for the sensor pick up. Subaru have 2 types of crank gears. 
I just did the 2.0 to 2.5 swap everything swaps.

In a similar situation.  After talking to John, its not just get a new motor and slap it in as I was hoping it was.  So many tiny factors as stupid Subi has so many different variants to the motors.  But again my application was different.  Im sure John will chime in shortly.
