We sold my sons Suzuki LTZ50 this weekend. He is ready for an upgrade. What are your opinions on his next quad. He is 8yo and a bit of a daredevil. I think I have narrowed it down to the following used options:

Polaris Predator 90
Polaris Predator 110
Yamaha raptor 90
Yamaha raptor 110

I do like that the Polaris is fuel injected. My wife or I will also most likely be following him on his dirtbike around camp sometimes too so im leaning more towards the 110s. Thoughts?

A Raptor 250 would be the route to go. He will be on the quad for several years and it will get him through the dunes.

My kid started riding a Raptor 250 when he was 8 and continued until he was 13/14 years old.

Skip the 90 and go 110 my 7 year old daughter is riding a 110. They are real mellow. He can try ours if he wants. I biece the yamaha and polaris are the same. Just diff fenders. I will warn that the swing arm is garbage my daughter cracked it in multiple places. And be sure to replace the cheap chinese sprocket bolts with grade 5 before they shear. ….and if you do desert roads wide open throttle for extended periods they will blow oil out the vent. Im devising a catch/return for them right now; i can make you one. Otherwise been good bikeIMG_8596.jpeg

The yamaha has a carb and Polaris is fuel injected right?

Not sure; i think all 90s carb, 110 outlaws fuel injected new yamaha 110 fuel injected. Our polaris is 2018 and fuel injected. We’ve had it 5 years no running issues

Raptor 125 is also an option; it does have a clutch

….to clarify i think the raptor 90/polaris outlaw 90 are same bike except fenders. The polaris 110 seems like a upscaled 90. Its fuel injected and maxes out around 25mph. Its hard to get front tires off the ground on purpose let alone on accident.

I have no experience with yamaha 110

We have had the best luck with lt80/kfx80….. absolutely love the power of them and kids can grow with them. My kids started on the 80 at 4 and rode them u til about 10 or so. 2 stroke, E-start, and auto clutch. But , you may want to go a little bigger if he is comfortable on a bigger quad. He will grow into it fast. They have plenty of get up and go and I think they top out around 35mph

I liked the LT80 better than the Polaris 110’s but if you’re looking for fuel injected then the 110’s are pretty good.

How tall is your boy? If he can reach all the controls, just go with a full size quad.
