Kawasaki released the Teryx 4 H2 today! 250HP

The more I see the more I like this thing.. I’m probably going to sell my speed and get one at some point this season

You already bought one first year model release, how did That work out for you? 🤔

While it's always cool to be the first kid on the block with a new toy, I'd at least wait till next season.

It's not like you Need to have one.

😉

Dave, I still like the looks of the Speed and useful bed better on the Speed. The Speed has a better chassis & suspension geometry design features, but overall the Kawi H2 is going to be a much better machine. Everywhere the Speed lacks, this is going to dominate, making those few better points of the Speed not as important or even noticeable in the overall reliability, usability & satisfaction.

Then add in the Kawasaki reputation, dealer system, and you know the aftermarket is going to support this car and is already building tons of stuff for this new car. It’s going to be the car to see at the Sand Show this year, and to see who’s already got stuff out for them.

I know someone in the valley who went to PC to see if he could see anything. They did not try to get in the Kawi compound as it was a private event but was able to watch this cars rip out in the desert. He said they sounded really good (not sure if the supercharger chirp might get annoying after awhile?) He said he drove over near an area to watch them come through a good sized whoop section and the cars looked really good. A few kicked up, but that’s also on the drivers not keeping their foot in it. Imagine what a set of Eibach springs and maybe a shock tune might do? Oh btw it was 102 out per his truck thermometer when he was out there, so it was pretty hot. He said they did not seem to be slowing up due to the heat, and he did not see any cars getting serviced or worked on by the Kawasaki crews.

No way your running this fast or hard in a stock Speed in these temps. Hollander just hit 99mph on tune 10 in triple digits the other day, but his “Cool Package” kit comes at a $15K price tag. But he’s still working on not breaking belts.

The Kawi is looking really good. For the dunes I would want to see how it accelerates from 20mph to 70mph. If it has good acceleration in that zone it will be fun in the dunes.

I am waiting to see if they have a 2 seater on display at the sand show.

Looks like ride height doesn't change much with 4 peeps in the car, could the suspension be set up pretty good from the factory?

You’re not going to see a 2 seater at the Sand Show. They will have a 2 seater, but the impression I got is the first model year release is only the 4 seater. All the focus will be on this H2 4 & 5 seater. Maybe this time next year we see the 2 seater H2. My guess is the 2 seater has a 103 in wb.

I am surprised they are not offering two color choices for the H2, like they did with the KRX its first year release. They had green & white paint color choices. I’m not a huge fan of green, and this car is definitely green and bold. Might not be too costly to wrap?

Looks like a Pro R will be in my future if Kawi is going to wait that long. I have no need for a 4 seater.

Most of my desert group has 4 seaters. The back seats were removed for storage though. 😎
If I mostly did desert stuff a 4 seater would be a no brainer. I have been doing more dune miles than desert miles and a 2 seater is more fun in the dunes. But the thought has crossed my mind about getting a 4 seater and removing the rear seats. I would have to drive the Kawi 4 seater before I would buy one.

DO IT!!!, then chop the wheel base down and make it PERFECT!

Relax, it'll be fine, nobody goes fast enough in a Kawasaki to roll them.....
Unless it’s a Tecate. Which, no one has anymore. 😂

About 18 years ago I had a really nice, fast 250R that was moved up to a 310. Greengo had a beat ass, clapped out Tecate that he got from my buddy American Pitbull (that introduced me to this site in 2003). Anyway… we were coming back from the GBS running 5th gear through the washes and this fucking Tecate is just WALKING RIGHT PAST ME. I was rarely beat by anything but that damn machine was a MF’ing ROCKET. STOCK! I could see the shit eating grin through his helmet and from that day on have always had a shitload of respect for Kawasaki. He smoked me and probably had 20-30 lbs on me, too.

Not going to lie... if it isn't an issue with the hauler/trailer/storage then I'd seriously consider the 4 seat... short of hauling equipment and event stuff or extra people when we are hosting someone I do not "need" a four seater... but the extra wheelbase in the dunes is actually a huge advantage. 99% of the time I am solo in the car and only have a dry bag with some essentials back there, whatever won't fit in the trunk... sure, if you are trying to run the drags or be the fastest at the hill then a 2 seat has advantages but pure duning I'll take the 4 seat all day long. Not sure about the Kawi but the 4 seat MavR spins on a fkin dime... tighter than legit rails with turning brakes. The wheelbase eats the chop, g-outs, etc ... it's like cheating out there.

The wheel base is what's getting these thru the dunes faster and smoother. Converting a 4 seat to 2 seat and setting up the back for whatever would be my choice if I was going that route.
