What's the best method to remove about a near cup of sludge (gum, varnish, muck) in an ATV Gas Tank? Quad was ran dry, but this stuff collected at the very bottom by the petcock fuel intakes inside the tank. Plastic tank, so inside is otherwise clean, no rust.

Seafoam good enough to get that crap out by running it or go the route of remove tank and do the vinegar/water, etc. treatment?

I'm guessing the fuel lines and carb will have some of the same sitting in them and will need same or the seafoam should be good enough to get it going, run it clean?

thanks,

Pull the tank and clean everything (tank, lines, petcock, carb).

No need to be lazy. You have the time.

That's what I did on my Z400 recently. What a freaking pain!!!

Couldn't find my pin drill set, to clean everything out in the carb...

So I ended up getting a new one from King Bolt, to the tune of FIFTY BUCKS!!! 😱😱🤬

Ran like new when I got done with it though. Rob and I have plans to do Pastor's quad pretty soon.

Dad gave me some of the cancer causing shit he bought during the Reagan admin. Your neighbors will know when you open that can 🤣

Right???

They don't sell that Good stuff in CA anymore.

But I think you can still get in in AZ?

🤷‍♂️

Whatever you do, do not put your hands in this shit. Back in 1996, my brother and our buddy Doug were rebuilding my '54 VW motor and they tossed some parts in the bucket. Some dumbass lost the basket so they told me to fetch my parts out of it. I thought I'd be good with putting a plastic bag over my hand for a 2 second dip to grab the parts... couldn't be more wrong. Pulled my hand out... NO MORE BAG! The solvent destroyed my skin for at least 10 years after that.
