My 2006 Wuerth Motorsports Build

Got the seats bolted in with the new brackets that set them back 2”. Very happy with the positioning! Felt like a sin putting these 1 year old harnesses on these brand new seats 😬🤣

In addition, got the 3 additional lights to fill my light rack! This consists of 3 Triple R RP spots, and 2 Triple R RP Floods. Should be all good in the lighting department I’d say 🤣

Also got my skid plate project complete. The main skid plate i made from 1/4" aluminum. This was easy as it was just a flat piece.

The rear section was more of a challenge with having to bend it to fit the kick in the tube for the engine cage. I made this portion out of 0.063". I know its thin, but I had a ton of it laying around and still want to keep things light. Its only purpose is to keep sand from getting in the belt grooves.

I don't have a sheet metal brake or way to bend it. so i used my side yard gate. Isn't perfectly straight but maybe a few wheelies will flatten it right out. 😂(y)

This car has never had a skid plate until now. Makes it look so much more complete, as well as increased peace of mind!

Looking great! Are you going to be out for Veterans?
thanks Greg! No i wish... i originally thought the celebration was the weekend of the 15th LOL. So it being pushed forward a week made me decide to wait until Thanksgiving. I'll be out there that whole week!

I’ll look for you that week. I’ll be there too

Did a few other odds and ends over the past week or so. Did the CV's, chased the wire through the tube for the new light pod rack, got the fuel cell cover panel powder coated, and put in most of the floor panels.

I am waiting on some wrap to arrive today to wrap my panels and my car will be done!

Coming along man! You gonna be ready to head out next Saturday?!

Just binged this entire thread. This thing is super cool. Nicely done. I’m looking forward to seeing photos of it back together out in the dunes!

Well got the car back together and made it out to Glamis the week of thanksgiving. Unfortunately, these 3+ year old decapped truck injectors had different plans. almost right away it started running rich. Even @Funco4JM was following behind me and noticed how rich it smalled. wideband was at 9.5-10:1 while crusing. After some trouble shooting figured out the injector on cyl #1 was partially stuck open. Went to Brawley and got an injector and ground the cap off of it to "decap" it. ran good for about another day. Then the injector on cyl #8 did the same thing but worse.

tore the top end down yesterday to find that the rod on cyl 8 broke due to hydrolock. so today going to tear town the bottom end to see what else got damaged. the car was running with 0 knocking when i shut it down. so it must have broke while shutting it off. I attempted to start it to move it behind my toyhauler to load it sunday AM, and the instant i cranked it heard a terrible sound so immediately stopped. i caught it right away. So it had to of broke while shutting it off once i noticed it running rich the 2nd time.

If i get lucky and nothing else is damaged, I will swap a new rod in. If there's more damage, im going to put a stock 5.3 in to get me through the rest of the season.

Anyways onto the good news... the car looks DAMN GOOD!!! 😂

Car came out great!

Beginning of every season I send off my injectors to get cleaned and flow tested. Too cheap to do to protect an expensive motor. I’d ditch the decapped injectors and toss a set of deka 80s in there. That will
Give you plenty of room to grow and some reliability. I’m on the same set for my 6th season with no issues.

I guess i forgot to mention, i had not cleaned these once, and did so prior to this season and then BAM! 2 failed injectors. cleaned fuel filters, all the lines as well.

This is 2 days after changing the trans fluid in my '17 6.7 ford and broke a transmission pan bolt.

i guess the lesson here is i need to quit trying to maintain my shit 😂

Who do you have do your injector cleaning? I’m in Queen Creek AZ and need a good company to use.

I just used accurate injector service “AIS” in Lake Havasu with good results. Super easy just follow instructions on their website.
