I'm looking at pulling mu FAST XFI system out of my car and going with a Holley. As far as I can tell by digging around, the Terminator will do all I need and more. Is there any benefit to running the Dominator or the HP in a sand car?

I think the Dominator does data logging, the Terminator does not.
The Dominator is also 100% sealed.
Dominator also has more inputs/outputs.
Terminator will do everything you want.

The terminator will do data logging on the little 3.5 through an SD card but they also came out with a blue tooth setup that will allow you to data log with your phone.

The fact the Terminator isn't seal would worry me. Dust can cause damage just like water. The first digit in an IP rating is protection from foreign solid objects. The highest rating, 6, is protection against dust (tight).

My terminator has been working great for several years, but the HP would be a better choice for our harsh environment.

Can you expound on the blue tooth setup?
Is there instructions on Holley's page on how to do this?

its a new feature, you can buy the blue tooth module that plugs into the can bus just like the computer cable does now and makes it blue tooth instead of the cable

I have converted several cars over to holley term x and haven't had a single problem with any of them. 2 of them have been my personal cars and the term x has worked great

+1 on the terminator X - mounted mine on some rubber and haven't had an issue. I don't have the bluetooth module as it wasn't an option when I bought mine -but it looks pretty cool - it's cheaper than the 3.5 screen too.
This guy has a lot of good videos - this one talks about the differences between the screen and bluetooth.

Anyone using the Holley harness? I see there are some connections not used in sand cars, but overall would the Holley harness be a good buy? Maybe go with the CBM harness?

I used the Holley harness on the first car that i did and I had to rework it a lot to make it fit my car and I wasn't completely happy with it. Since then I have only used custom harnesses on all the cars I have done. The car i just finished we did a cbm harness and it was a nicely built harness but not a true custom fit so quite a few wires were pretty long so just had to adjust for the extra length. The cbm harness did have two cam sensor wires crossed so there were issues with startup but after that was figured out everything was good. One negative was that it did take forever to get the cbm harness, from ordering it to finally getting it was 2.5-3 month wait

The HP is $1,100 more than the Terminator. I can make a nice, sealed box to mount it in and have plenty of money left over for cold beers :giggle:

:)

Other than I/O on the sub harnesses for things not needed, I don't think there's anything that runs to the engine that I wouldn't use. The ECU side I/Os that are unused can be easily tucked away.

The harness is well made. If you're super anal about having too much wire for some items and having to zip tie it out of the way, I can see wanting something custom.

My current harness is a mess. I do have good fuses/relays for fans and fuel pump so I should have no issues tying those in.

I bought my Term X with the Holley harness.
Alex Arvizu did the wiring. He didn't mention having to modify anything in the harness.
Plug and play he said.
Every connection is labeled, correct connectors etc.

I use the Holley harness. There was a short period where their harness were having some issues but I haven’t heard much of that as of late. I use current performance relay box and that gives you fan power and fuel pump power. As well as my flex fuel sensor. Starting from scratch with a bigger budget… I would go custom harness. But my kids play lots of travel sports so my budget was small.

I went with the HP. It is sealed and if im not mistaken it is also potted. I figured with the vibration and the exposure to the elements it was better to buy once and cry once. I used the Holley harness. It was more or less a plug and play installation. If I had to do it again I would go the same route.
