The season is coming up quick and the 19th Annual Veterans Day Gathering are underway! This year's event will take place on Saturday 11/12 at 11:11am and we have some big things happening this year and a few changes.
Kicking off the weekend we'll see you in Camp Glamis Veterans in Vendor Flats at noon on Friday to pick up your pre-order event shirts. Stick around and grab a hotdog and chips from Daddy's Famous Foods while waiting for the driver's meeting ~2pm. The 2nd ever Veterans Day Flag Run will depart this area at 3pm as we crawl at a snails pace - WHILE ROCKING AMERICAN FLAGS - through vendors, down sand highway along the 78, and the easy route to sunset. Last year's flag run was the first and we saw >300 vehicles in the run... frickin amazing site to see everyone rolling the red white and blue in a long caravan. There's a FB event for the Flag Run at https://fb.me/e/2bd5G6QpN
Saturday 11/12 at 11:11am will begin the flag pole ceremony and you do not want to be late to the party. Bring shade, water, snacks, and plan to be there with us a while as we honor each and every veteran in attendance. The FB event for the 19th Annual Veterans Day Ceremony is https://fb.me/e/31EPav6vd
Changing things up once again to make it more accessible to everyone and more enjoyable for the volunteers that make it happen, we'll be camping at vendor flats (not in the compound) and taking over a good bit of acreage. Anyone and everyone that wants to camp with us is welcome to with one simple request - we will have one campfire central at this mega camp, if you need your own fire and don't want to socialize with the group then camp anywhere else. We'll have things happening back at camp for all ages. After the days events we'll wrap up the evening with a celebration of all Armed Forces and finally the cake cutting for the birthday. The Camp FB event is at https://fb.me/e/2lGayB3sR
Tune to "BFG Relay" at 151.715 to listen to the ceremony if you are out of earshot of the PAs, hopefully whoever you are parked near isn't blasting their tunes. Also, for those that are not in Glamis, we'll be producing (2 cameras and a drone) a live event and streaming on FB (@glamisveterans) and YouTube (@glamisveterans) and maybe a few others platforms.
If you are camping with us - or don't mind driving over for meals for the weekend - then Daddy's Famous Foods will be catering IN CAMP. As we need to get accurate headcount so Brad can order food and prep the meal tickets are pre-sale only and that will close 11/7. 100% of these meal tickets go directly towards the food and supporting our favorite veteran owned and operated business! Glamis Veterans is putting together a swag pack for everyone that grab a meal ticket and there is no additional cost to you. Purchase your meal ticket HERE and you'll get a wristband when you check in to camp.
Make sure and come see us, even if you aren't camping with us.
