GLAMIS SCHOOL HOUSE

Schoolhouse information

School teacher:  Carol Hales Allen

Most of the pupils were children of the railroad workers.  Carols home was a box car made into living quarters.  The railroad workers lived in two-box car houses with a concrete slap between and a weather cover over it.  Glamis was actually named for a castle in 1600 Scotland, and is pronounced “Glahmus.”  The castle is mentioned in Shakespeare’s MACBETH.
