    Sand Limo Sandcars Gallery

Here's my older beam'd Sand Limo! (I sure think it's a Sand Limo at least) It used to be turbo 2276 and I've since swapped a J35a4 into it and it's awesome! Nothing like bombing through the trails faster than SxS's with 3 of your heavy buddies and all the power to push through still!

    Another J35 Swap

Here’s the only clip I got of me racing this weekend! The buggy did excellent and was the fastest out of our group! (A few 3800’s, some VW’s, an ecotec and a Outfront turbo Subaru) definitely glad I decided to go with the Honda swap. The first two days I ran on with the 4500rpm limit and it was...

    Another J35 Swap

It’s together and runs! Complete with exhaust and working radiator fans😎 the only problem it’s having is that it has a limiter at 4500rpm for some reason. Guessing it’s thinking it’s in park/neutral, if anyone knows a workaround or a different factory ECU I could swap from a manual maybe I’m...

    Another J35 Swap

Finally got my adapter plate in and got everything mounted up today! Didn’t get water lines plumbed but fired the engine up and it sounded good! Going to do a 2-1 1 3/4 tubing to single 2.5” muffler in hopes to get rid of the burble v6’s with duals seem to have. Super excited to give this thing...

    The Transaxle Thread

Is there any good sources of information for the 3 rib case 091/094 internal transaxle out of the TDI vanagons? Wondering if it’s the same case dimensions and mounting as a 3 rib but just 6 rib internals or what the difference is. https://www.facebook.com/share/1D1EGA1i4K/?mibextid=wwXIfr

How much spacer is too much spacer?😬 I assume I shouldn’t go higher than the factory spacer already is. If I can though I’d strongly consider it

    Another J35 Swap

I ordered through Moore Parts. I called both pacific customs and Kennedy and they said it was 4-6 weeks but I didn’t try weddle. Moore had free shipping and $30 off

    Another J35 Swap

I agree. Waiting to see where it truly mounts when the adapter plate comes in. Hoping the 4-6 week lead time is just them shooting high and it’s quicker!

    Another J35 Swap

Yes, I drilled the fuel rail mount bolts and was planning on plugging the EGR hole. Luckily I didn’t do anything besides the rails being that it won’t work for me

Flipped intake doesn’t really work for me :/ I’m okay cutting tubes and adding new as my dad has a tubing bender but I was hoping to avoid it

    Another J35 Swap

Flipping the intake does look like it sets it up just right! I really like the color scheme on your intake and plan on styling mine the same.

    Another J35 Swap

I’ll never miss it because I’ve still got two old school buggies with VW power😄 I do have to admit I’m excited to have reliable, easily/cheaply replaceable good stock power! Next on the list will just be a trans to hold when this one inevitably blows up

    Another J35 Swap

Hopefully the Flat-as-Kansas torque curve is even better being that’s where the buggy lives! I’d love to eventually do a 6-1 header but also the Hot Head Headers look super slick! Any suggestions for mufflers?

    Another J35 Swap

Replacing the turbo 2276 in my what I assume is an old beam’d Sand Limo

    Another J35 Swap

Got my J35 in as close of place as I can without my adapter plate today! Excited to see it come together

    VW, J Series, or Ecotec

Yes planning on getting the tensioner with it. This engine has basically no oil leaks anywhere which is a big plus. I was under the impression that Harvey (Dune Addict on youtube) can bypass the immobilizer in the ecu and also make V-tec still work without a speed sensor. If not factory ecu...

    VW, J Series, or Ecotec

I asked, did not receive. Going to a neighboring junkyard to get one and the rest of the parts they harvested off to sell individually! $338 for the engine (minus coils, harness, throttle body, alternator, and ECU) and the neighboring junkyard said he'd sell me the parts I'm in need of for just...

    VW, J Series, or Ecotec

I decided J35A4 is the next step forward! We'll see how it goes.

    VW, J Series, or Ecotec

Fuel pressure is solid, fuel system is clean as crystal, it definitely has old Bosch style low impedance injectors (60lb/hr) and a locked CB Magnaspark distributor. By the time I spend the money on the ignition system, new ECU, and injectors I feel like I could just put that money towards an...

    VW, J Series, or Ecotec

I very much appreciate the input! I've done some stuff with LS swaps (carbureted SBC to LS) so I don't think the wiring/ecu part should be a big deal, fabrication is also not an issue as whatever I'm not proficient at my dad has built many rails over the years! His input on the whole thing is to...
