When you set these controllers to a certain air pressure, are they trying to keep that pressure the entire time while driving and bouncing around? Like is it airing up and down automatically constantly. Thx

No they do not add air or release air automatically, its an internal valve that opens when you are airing up (pushing the button) and closes once released. Holding that pressure from said valve thru the air line to the air bag. Reverse when airing out, why you hear the hisss sound. If they did this automatically your compressor would be running non stop adding air releasing air.

Depends on the controller. If it’s one that maintains a certain PSI in the bag, it will have some sort of attenuation built in for bumps and spikes.

The Airlift P3 is the commonly used Controller for Funcos. It maintains pressure.

One thing I have read is that the system is dependent on air line diameter and if you don't have a good setup, you may have to hit the buttons a few times to get to where you want to be. Dumping or hitting Front and Rear pressure quickly seem to be reliant on 3/8" lines, not the usual 1/4".

So with the 3P, if I'm set at 40psi and hit a long bowl compressing the bags, what is the controller trying to do? Maintain 40psi? Or it knows I'm bouncing around?

For what its worth. I have the 3P system in my car. I have the system set for my desired pressures at the push of the center button. If I am in the car it will adjust to the programmed pressure. If I get out of the car, it will not change the bag pressure even though I have removed 280 lbs. (myself). The car will be a bit higher on that side but wont re-adjust. Same if I get in the car after its reached my programmed settings.

I haven't dug into it but would imagine it will adjust to your programmed setting and once its reached, it stops adjusting.

I would recommend having passengers in the car as its coming up to the desired setting.

I have never had it drop pressures as I drive on its own, regardless of g forces in a big bowl or terrain changes. I also dont have the ride height sensors nor do most of the Funco cars.

Call Grant. :)
I wouldn't want to bother him with my nonsense and too cheap/poor to buy one yet🤣 Just curious as I don't think I would want my shock setting fighting the bag pressure fluctuations if it does?? but I do want to hard park like the cool kids.
