Thank you! Seem perfect so farCongrats - great size trailer.
another option is to run a Honda 2000 or equivalent rather then the generator. One thing I found surprising is that this trailer only has a converter, not an inverter. The generator has to be running to get 110. I’m honestly surprised they built it that way. I’d prefer not to have the generator running all day when it really doesn’t need to be.
Yeah, I was thinking of maybe doing thatanother option is to run a Honda 2000 or equivalent rather then the generator.
Why does the generator need to run all day?One thing I found surprising is that this trailer only has a converter, not an inverter. The generator has to be running to get 110. It's actually NOT a surprise. Your trailer was built in the mid/late 00's and that level of added tech was not included at that time. Inverters were seen as an "Add on" for anything below $120,000 (ish) coming from the factory... unless you requested it on your NEW build. One thing I found surprising is that this trailer only has a converter, not an inverter. It doesn't have an invertor, so no way to run 110v of the batteries. My son's GFs trailer is the same way.Why does the generator need to run all day?
With no solar, decent batteries should hold up.
Before I added solar/inverter, I had 2 6 Volts and they held up all day with just using basic stuff, 12 Volt TV, phone chargers on a small inverter etc.
I get it.It doesn't have an invertor, so no way to run 110v of the batteries. My son's GFs trailer is the same way.
He clearly mentioned using a small Inverter for those 110v needs, which is supported by the question of "What's going on with your batteries?".It doesn't have an invertor, so no way to run 110v of the batteries. My son's GFs trailer is the same way.
