Have a weekend warrior and the floor is the standard painted wood with a carpet. I’m over having a carpet and all the sand it carry’s and rolling it up. I only have experience putting epoxy on a garage floor but it was just the Home Depot stuff. I’m thinking about epoxying my toyhauler floor but hoping someone would know what the good stuff to use is and the right application / prep to do on wood.

doubt you have this place there, but HIS paints, we've done car haulers, garage, shop floors and they have a great product. when i tore my car hauler floor out I epoxied bottom side before installing the new floor, then sealed the seams and did the top side.

I did my new box trailer with the home depot stuff. Came out perfect, I can't say what would need to be done for painted wood, mine was bare. But, anyways, I would not hesitate to use the home depot stuff again.

Is that a new Fractal trailer? Floor came out nice. My brother in law works with a heavier duty epoxy floor and I’m going to try it out on my enclosed. Going to add some grit into for those spilled liquids too.

Yup. Picked it up about this time last year. So far, so good 👍🏻

Good to hear. Just picked ours up last week. I’d love to hear how the Home Depot epoxy holds up long term.

Use any good quzlity alcyd paint. While wet sprinkle packets of chips in whatever color choice. Gives just right traction znd nice look.

I own an epoxy flooring company. Nothing against someone doing a DIY themselves and not to knock someone elses work but if you want to do an epoxy floor do not buy home depot products. Its about the cheapest epoxy you can buy, its water based materials. you should use a 100% solids epoxy from an epoxy manufacturer. Not sure where you are located but there are plenty of manufacturers all around the country that make it. if you intend to do a flake floor (or really any style epoxy) I recommend doing a polyaspartic top coat once the epoxy is dry. You can sprinkle in Aluminum oxide and then do a couple final rolls to even it out for slip resistance. There are different levels of grit in aluminum oxide. Whatever manufacturer you find should have that in stock as well, its very common in the industry. For prep you will want to sand the floor and make sure any left over glue, paint, or material is completely off and it is bare wood. If you need to fill cracks or holes most epoxy manufacturers will have a paste crack and divot repair you can use. Most of those materials dry rock hard so you will need a diamond cup wheel to smooth it out. If you didn't want to go that crazy you can use bondo instead to repair the cracks and then use a sander to smooth it out. If your in so cal shoot me a message and I can point you in the right direction for where to buy materials. You'll definitely spend a bit more doing it this way but you should have a floor that will last
