FAFO. Vegas Found Out

We were just there for the SMX final and I hated it freaking resort fees parking and food and drink prices are ridiculous. You couldn’t see a decline in people that was noticeable but we don’t go to that shit hole often so hard for me to compare, but I know every time we tried to get back into the Paris driveway I was pissed from all the jackass’s blocking the entrance crossing when the crosswalk lights said to stay out of the street.. Do not plan on going back not even for races. I remember when rooms were cheap or comped and meals and drinks were a bargain, at the outrageous prices now I can understand if they truly are losing business and like said before all the Indian casinos are become destination resorts and by far nicer.

It'd outrageous. I loved old Vegas and had I spent more time there would be living in a cardboard box at a freeway underpass. We went last TG and I was shocked at how bad prices were.... coffee and coffee cake in the morning $22... brunch with no alcohol at a sports bar inside the casino for 4 people was $200, two shitty G&Ts in plastic cups was $48, two of the frozen daquiri drinks with an extra shot for the kids was $110... fuck that place. I paid for it all from the Craps table but that's besides the point. No $7 buffet or cheap places to go anymore. No clue how they sustain that shit.

We live in Temecula and go to pechanga once or twice a month sometimes we gamble but most of the time it’s to eat and see a show. They do a good job of keeping it clean.
I have friends that live in Temecula and when we go visit it Pechanga is busy.

The dollar is worthless!
The less people go and spend...the more the resorts have to charge to make up for the loss!
Seems counter intuitive.
Lower prices, get people to go...cut drink prices by 75%...let people have fun get drunk and spend money!!!

Haven’t been in almost 10 years. Last was when my wife wanted to go see Britney. Stayed at west gate had a nice condo type room for good price as other hotels price looked good but they had the resort fees parking etc not included.

But after that seein at that time how prices were rising at some
Places etc didn’t look foward to going back.

Use to enjoy going atleast once a year but today have no desire to do so. Heck got a casino 15 min away that has craps blackjack and roulette all Vegas style so why bother with Vegas to gamble.

When we did go to Vegas, we would spend most of our time on Freemont Street as I was used to the Las Vegas of the 90's and preferred the older part of the city. With that said, we did stay at the MGM one time for a Glamisdunes.com group trip and hung with Wash 11, Amy and a few others. Which reminds me Joel... my current eye candy is 100 times better than what I drug along on that trip... 🤣

My Ex has a degree in arguing with people so we got the MGM room at a significant discount, "I can give you $60 per night for the room or you can NOT get the $60/night... your choice!". When we went to head home and gather up our stuff in the room, I noticed an article of clothing under the bed (about 10% visible on her side) and grabbed it. I held it up noticing it was a pair of BIG Black lace panties (I know what I buy and what is 'excess' material) and said, "Are these yours?! I don't think these are yours!" and she lost it. Mentally and stomach, wise.

So... we got a free night and an education on the MGM Grand's cleaning practices for their customers that low bid. I believe that was my last trip.

Was there last weekend.. 18 for a beer.. Any decently priced buffet had a 3-hour wait. Dropped 280 for a steak dinner for two.. Attitudes everywhere...
I'm good for another 5 years...
Bro, when we finally got to our room Friday night at 10:30 pm, room service was closed. Says they close at 6pm! So I went to the gift shop and bought two waters and a bag of chips for $20. Before the wedding, I bought a round at the bar for mom and Dave along with Shannon and myself. Two vodka redbulls, one margarita with a shot on the side, and a beer for $115! No hurry to go back.

Hate that place, always have, always will. It’s dirty, people are rude, and way overpriced. And that’s coming from someone who doesn’t even drink. It’s too expensive even without alcohol. I plan on never visiting there again. Stopped by on the way to a soccer tournament in Utah 5 years ago and it was awful. Tried to walk the strip and hated every second of it.

Last trip we went to Circa on their Summer Special Rates. That place is really nice. Fancy lounge on the rooftop and awesome pools. Got free daybed at pool one day and $100 food and beverage credit all for $300 for 2 nights midweek. Victory Burger and Asian restaurant were our favorites

The "South Point 400" was today.
My buddy Michael owns South Point.
Best perks in Vegas.

I go for work a lot to Vegas, I rarely stay on the strip anymore, mostly stay in Station Casinos (Red Rock or GVR). I am OK for paying a lot of money for food and drinks, it has been that way for years. It is the resort fees, parking fees, fees for sitting by the pool, fees for everything else. Your wallet is open the entire time and it just isn't worth it anymore. I will go to Cabo now for long weekends for pleasure.

Well the problem is they are squeezing everyone for every last nickel.. When you walk through the strip and the cheapest black jack table is 50-100 a hand.. C'mon the little guy can't afford that shit? Granted I end up playing way higher than that, but at least let me feel good and work my way up.. LOL

The non stop resort fees, random fees on meals, etc.. It all adds up, but more importantly makes you feel "gouged" and nobody likes that. Then insert all that covid money that was pumped into the economy and all the criminal element that all went straight to Vegas with it. A lot of people are choosing other destinations.

It's a nice casino for sure! :).

Most have no idea how good it is.
Originally, the "Sports Book" had a "Hot Dog Cart"
and the price was 75 cents. What could possible go wrong?
The girls that worked the cart didn't get many tips, @ .25 change.
Michael raised the price to $1.25 and now the tips jumped up.
He takes care of his people.
Primary NASCAR sponsor, Rodeo, Classic motorcycle auction
too many other events to count.
I am a nobody and he always treated me like family.
I'm always "Comped" at his casino hotel.
I'll always speak well of Michael.
I do have his private phone number, but I would never
call him because that's not how I roll.
Edit to add: I've known Michael for 35 years.

I remember Laughlin in the 90s.......you could leave boats, jetski's all your shit in the parking lot and NEVER worry about it.... if security caught a thief they ended up somewhere in the desert.....great buffets..good times....Now it's tweakerville, they literally watch you walk away from your car and Zero security in the parking lots... I eat at chilis across the river when I go to bird hunt now. At least I know what I'm getting.
