I have the oretry standard 2 car garage with the roll up segmented door. If it matters it's the 2 sided door with the insulation in it.

The wheels on the door have squeeked since day 1. I've tried some stuff and a light oil like WD40 works for a bit but runs out. I've also tried a spray lithium and that just made a mess... Anyone have any suggestions on what works well on this??

I have the standard genie mach force screw opener. The screw doesn't have any grease on it any more. It looked like rwfular old bearing grease. Is that OK to use??

Thanks
Bob

i upgraded all mine to the ball bearing skate board looking wheels.

I’m sure you know it, but be careful fucking with anything garage door related, even replacing wheels.

I’ve had decent luck with dry lube for mine. No clue if it’s the best or not.

I use silicon spray on all the joint brackets, wheels, and springs. It works well for me, my garage door is very quiet.
Also no grease or oil dripping or attracting dust/dirt.
There is a brand that's labelled specifically for garage doors but I'm sure any silicon spray would work.

This is the hot setup.

Just did the same to mine. 20 minute job. No more squeakity-squack, it's dead silent now.
Search Youtube for "how to" vids. Easy peasy.

Thabks for all of the help, folks. Especially @ChEFF Who got me all dialed in to tune up the door. It's whisper quiet now....

Bob, Not a door specialist....

@THD , Primarily clean and lube.

Cleaned the tracks the wheels ride in. Inspected to ensure the sections met correctly and they were not tweaked.

With @ChEFF help, I replaced the wheels. Go on youtube and search for wheel replacement with hammer. Before installing new wheels I cleaned up the hinges and lubed them. I also lubed the shafts before inserting them.

Lubed the heck out of the springs and rubbed it into them. Then rolled the door up and did it again from the bottom to get the parts I missed.

With the door up, I lubed the cables on the rollers.

Withthe door down, I pulled the tampon string on the shuttle and cleaned inside the track and lubed it as well. Not super heavy I didn't want it dripping on my car....

The screw was still pretty well lubed so i didn't touch it. Last time I took some bearing grease and put little dots all the way down the screw and then ran the shuttle back and forth a few times and it spread it all where you would think. It's captured in the guide so it didn't get dirty or collect dirt.

Last year I bought these on Amazon and they made a giant squeaking noise that could be heard miles away. LOL. I lubed them and squeek all gone... FWIW I rolled the door up about 9 inches and cut another slot in my track and now I van "lock" the door partially open...

Whisper quiet now....

This is the lube I sprayed on everything.
