I want to build a quad

GLAMIS WEATHER
I don't think you'll be disappointed in a banshee unless you only want a modern four stroke. A banshee isn't it, but that doesn't mean you can't get the result you are looking for with one. Banshee motors can be built for a wide and linear power band. It's just that building a peaky high horsepower mid/top motor is relatively easy and cheap and freakin fun to ride. With an mx motor, you still have a 2 stroke hit but not as abrupt, more manageable, and less fatiguing on the body. I loved how my banshee handled. It pounded whoops on stock suspension as fast I wanted to hold the throttle and I could spin that thing around going down the middle of a steep dune and shoot back up like nothing. For better handling, you will want a shorter swingarm and extended A arms with suspension to match. I wouldn't go long travel unless using a high sag (zero preload) suspension that keeps the center of gravity low. Your shock dealer will be able to help you with that. A banshee isn't competitive on a track. It's a blast in the dunes. It's hard not to just drop the coin on a YFZ450R that is ready to go from the factory. The banshee will take work and money but will reward you in a completely different way.
