If you weee gonna buy a new dually what would ya get?

This ^^
Just get some different wheels that don't make you look like a Detroit baller and it'll look like a whole different truck.
Then find out when the next space launch is and show up asking if they got room for those things in one of them outer space dumpsters. Once they see em they'll understand.

I love my wheels and tires.. lol.

Had a couple guys buy the same pkg here in town because they like them as well.

I love looking at the new trucks but my 2013 LTZ crew cab 2500 HD does everything for me and has 297k of trouble free miles. I’m just going to keep mine too as I only drive it about 5k a year

There are also plug and play solutions from companies:

As someone that's been in the industry for 34 years now, I wouldn't put this junk in anything I own. These components have a pretty good history of being problematic, in various ways. If someone likes constantly dealing with connectivity issues and overall bad performance... by all means, go for it. I personally like to install and move on with life.

My truck stereo is pretty much part of the truck.. I don’t think you are changing it.

It controls a ltruck t of the functions of the truck from the touch screen?

Kenwood has a separate control unit, that for sure integrates your steering wheel buttons into the unit.

I didn't do any research on it, as I don't have anything like that on my old dinosaur.

Maybe call Bills guy at Al & Ed's? Dallas was who he told me to talk to.

Yeah, that was the wrong one.

This company sells genuine Ford Sync3 upgrades, so you get the newer stereo doodads in your older truck.

That being said: it’s not all seamless. None of it. OEM installed from the factory Sync3 in the Wife’s ‘22 F-150 needs resetting every now and then. The Alpine CarPlay unit I slammed in the Jeep fucks right off on occasion as well. IT shit sucks and doesn’t always work.

Sadly: the newer (2008 or so and newer, depending on manufacturer) stuff needs a CANBUS module for all of that functionality. It’s no longer contact closure on switches with this shit now. There’s literally a network rolling around in every car…

Which is why:

1. Dealers can’t figure out how to fix your glitch
2. There are a gazillion “CTRL+ALT+DEL” instances in new cars. It’s maddening.

It is a CAN Buss module....

Like I said, I didn't dig into it much, cause it doesn't apply to me! 🤣

Best to call someone who's hip on all this new fancy azz chit.

2. This module is going the opposite direction than what you are thinking of for it's intended use. This (discontinued) part is a DSP integrated amplifier that would work with a Stock head unit (basically a signal sensing amp due to no RCA outputs on Stock head unit).

You guys are killing me...

I Just bought a brand new Kenwood for my truck.

One of the options is a control module, to integrate with the newer cars/trucks.

I just grabbed the first link that popped up on a Google search. 🙄

Go ahead and look it up if you're interested, in finding out the exact one would work with Dave's truck.

That is all. 😁

Oh yeah?!?? Well… yore mom.

I’ve always been a Ford guy. I gave GM a chance with a 2022 2500 dmax trans went out at 60k miles. I’ll be ordering a 2026 F450 in August.

Honestly the sync works good in my truck.. I have had a few other older fords it was enough that you just wouldn’t use it.

I’m not sure what I’d be gaining in a new truck other than a new truck.

Other than the overhead cameras on gmc (which I don’t care for anyways?)..

Like I said I was thinking about buying the wife a new car and this is kinda what it turned into.. I’m not sure I want to drop a 100+ into something that I’m not gaining anything..

I think gd.com would probably benefit more from a merch trailer for SSSS at this point if I’m gonna piss money down a hole.. lol
