New ride for the dune season - Kawi H2

All done! Not thrilled with the a-pillar light mounts and Baja Designs mounts as there is not enough adjustability to point the lights down more. I will have to figure out another way to mount the lights.

Not having knock outs for the switches just seems like Kawasaki was lazy or cheap. No other explanation for it. Makes adding a switch 100X harder for no reason. Plus you have to be careful and not cut too much.

As far as the lights, I’m not sure why Kawi laid the A pillar back so far? I’m sure it was a “Look” they were going for.

A lighter to heat up a blade makes quick work of the switch blanks.

I think the a-pillar mounts that you attach where the cage is bolted to the frame will do the trick.

Crank down on the mirror adjustment screws really good if you haven't already. Mine felt tight from the box but loosened up pretty quickly

I will be checking them. Thanks for the heads up.

Dunes are getting a reset today! Wind is blowing pretty good .(20+mph).

I got the KWI clutch kit installed yesterday and was able to put about 40 miles on the car. This is the first time with any SXS I have owned that you instantly could tell the difference with a clutch kit. It is like a completely different car with the acceleration and throttle response. No more lag from a dead stop and the acceleration from 20mph and up throws you back in the seat. II can break the tires loose where I was not able to do so with the stock clutching. In the dunes the throttle response and acceleration is spot on and brings the car up to a new level of fun factor.

In the small dunes you can really zip around with the way the clutch is set up.

Wife was not to happy hitting 80mph in the whoops. Thankfully her helmet does not have the wiring for the radio/intercom. LOL!!!

I met Nick from Chupacabra yesterday and he took my car for a quick rip after the clutch install.

The KWI clutch kit is a must have for the H2.

Probably tough for Nick to compare the KWI clutch tune vs the AA kit clutch kit as he also did the programmer and muffler at the same time. But what was his thoughts on your car with the KWI?

He gave it a thumbs up.

CVT belt?
Yep, I forgot I had on a stock belt with some miles and showed it no mercy before the new clutch weights and was even more abusive to it after the clutch weights. If I dial it back 20% the belt would survive. But it is too much fun how this car gets after it.

I thought I had on the G-boost belt (longer belt) Put the G-boost belt on and we shall see how it goes. Have 162 miles so far on this trip and 466 miles total on the car.

I hope the clutch tune and different belt is the fix to make belts last. Two belts in 500 is disappointing, but both were in the sand. But still we all hope for Pro R reliability when it comes to clutches and belts. .

Hope the clutching helps. Sorta takes the fun out of it if you have to worry every time you drop the hammer.

The clutch tune is getting more power to the wheels. I will stick with the Gboost belt and see how long it last.

The Pro R belt life is the best of any SXS.
