Dang that does suck. Went to school with his step daughter and he coached one of my teams when younger. What an awesome man and so inspirational.

Loved watching him play the game, great player, and a great guy from what everyone says.
EFF Cancer !!

Sandberg, a cornerstone of the Cubs’ lineup for 15 seasons and a defining figure of 1980s and 1990s baseball, earned 10 consecutive All-Star selections (1984–1993), the 1984 National League MVP award, nine Gold Gloves, seven Silver Sluggers, and a place in Cubs history with his No. 23 retired in the Cubs Hall of Fame.

Getting to that age where players I idolized are starting to pass. I love baseball but the game is different ( not for the better) then I remember it as a kid.

The ballpark experience is no longer a Baseball Game. With all the blaring walk up music and other loud advertising segments it’s really hard to get into the game. And the crowd that attends the game is very different. Most don’t even watch the game they are there to snap pix on their phones and go to and from the concession stands every inning. Makes it hard for a real fan to want to spend $$$$ to go to a game
