Soooo pitted!

Pitted windshields. Seems like the newer windshields are only lasting 2-3 seasons before being too pitted from the sandblasting. Is it the current quality of the glass? I know I follow too close… but they should last more than 2 seasons.

Has anyone tried to wrap the windshield in tint or clear bra and use it like a tear off on goggles?
