So I've got this project "jeep" that I acquired and it's got some funky GM modified spindle that I want to replace. Plus I'm trying to get my bolt patterns to match front/rear. Right not the AR23 wheels are 5x4.5 which matches my Ford 9" rear but the fronts have adapter to the GM 5x5. 


 

My question is to anyone who may know or fabs, do I need a "jig" to get this welded up? Yes, I know call kartek... looking for other experiences @J Alper @L.R.S. @Hondo

I welded those spindles before and did not use a fixture. The only part that is indexed is the bolt that goes up and down you will need to weld that with the bolt installed to keep it from warping.

We use those Kartek kits all the time. No fixture needed but do use a dummy spacer to take up the uniball space while welding. I make my spacer a tad bigger so the uniball will slide in after welding. Also use antiseize on the bolt.

I'll probably pull the old rusty uniballs out of the a-arms to use as spacers, then order new one.

The only other option I was looking for was another factory style spindle from Ford, but nothing came up.

Now to find 2" hollow brake and spindle kits for the ford pattern I want, next obstacle GO

Thanks Kevin, I was hoping to find a wilwood assembly but I'll look up gearones options too
