St Anthony / Cody Wyoming summer trip

Back to Idaho Dunes RV. We looked at Sand Hills but that place looks run down now.
Just curious, what did you see that turned you away? I stayed there in 2012 with Bababouy and it was minimal but nice. Back then IDRV didn't have any trees so it was to better choice for kids and hanging out. That seems to have changed.

I'm planning another trip for next year and was going to head to Sand Hills again... but welcome feedback for all Campgrounds.

I have stayed at Sand Hills two years in a row. The water to the entire campground was shut off several times without warning, even though management knew they would be shutting the water off hours in advance. One year there was a grand total or three of us in the campground. Not hard to let us know they would be shutting the water off before getting the shower. Second year I called to make my reservation. The lady who answered the phone reserved the wrong days. When I called back to ask her to correct her mistake she charged me a rebooking fee to correct her mistake. There was garbage around the campground including a shat pair of undershort. Every morning a campground employee who turned the sprinklers on walked past the garbage on his morning walk. The bathrooms and showers were never cleaned. When you check in you are treated like an unwanted guest.
It looks like the campground was owned by a very good guy for years, which resulted in people coming back for decades. Then he sold and the individual spaces are now privately owned, but managed by the Lady Tremaine of the year.
IDRV runs a better campground and treats you like a guest.

What's the deal with this open camp area? I hate the idea of being in an RV park.

Definitely nothing like I experienced. Thanks for the clarity!

First trip after I retire
I was there for the first time in June this year and honestly not too impressed. There was not a good flow for miles on end like G. The transitions are very steep and akward. Lots of rocks and bushes to navigate around. The steep dunes made seeing traffic more difficult.

It was nice to check them out but i doubt ill go back. I have a buddy who is there right now with a large group and im curious to get his opinion as its his first time there.
