The only thing I can think of is DeCoster is going to make the bike whatever Eli wants!
DeCoster/Tomac could be a good thing!
It just sucks...Eli is so Dialed in on the Yamaha.
I also heard an interesting thing that maybe he wants to groom Eli and John to take over the running of the team after Eli retires and DeCoster steps down???

If He can run KYB and a cable clutch and get the motor guys to do some tweaking and tuning, then maybe!
It will be interesting.

I really like the idea of the Tomac's taking over KTM.
A lot of Rumors swirling this early in the season.
But I haven't heard the one of Deegan taking Tomac's seat next year. 🤔

Hard to help develop a bike that isn't proven yet.
The KTM is a proven winner!
KTM runs KYB suspension, I'm sure they can tune the motor to Eli's liking, as far as the clutch...I'm betting they will work around that...maybe end up offering it as an option!
Either way, Eli has tested the bike and I am pretty sure tested everything else he wanted...but if he like the KTM, this could be a good thing!
I hope so at least.
 
So that only leaves one Sponsor that has to be taken care of. KTM is tied to Red Bull and Eli is tied to Monster. One of the energy drinks needs to step back before anything can happen

I don't know if this is true unless the AMA/FIM changed the rule. When I was with Honda Racing we had both hydraulic and cable and the riders would switch back and forth depending on what they liked. Hydraulic at that time was not on production CRF's.

Watched a old SX race from 83 I think. What was wild was the track, no triples the whoops were different and the big ole hay bales there for protection. Track was on a stadium floor, but it looked smaller than the modern ones.
All the greats from that period were racing Hannah, Ward and Larocco but that got me thinking. If you dropped Tomac, Sexton and Jett on their modern bikes against those old riders on old bikes on the old track how much faster would they be. Modern Motocross riders use different methods and set ups and would be clearly faster. The question would be how long could you just keep dropping those modern riders on modern bikes using modern methods before the competition would be about even?

It's interesting that as soon as Jett got into a position to grab the overall win, they called the race done. Nevermind that he needed to go in a get new googles cause he couldn't see, but there were still 3-4 laps left and the wonder kid would have definitely finished off the podium!
Can't have that now can we???
Great race by Eli...he screwed himself on the 1st race by not getting into 3rd!!!

Deegan...well what can you say. The dude is doing what he does...dominate the Jr. Class!
