The bottom is out 6 or 7 Inches and the top looks flush with the MH.

The bottom is pulled in by motor, the top is pulled in by the awning.  Personally I would pull it back out and make sure nothing is impeding the bottom part (look inside for something that is in the way).  Otherwise it could be the motor or track?
