Turbo motors and spark plugs

How often should spark plugs be replaced? and what is a sign that it is time to replace?

Some friends w/ very high HP LS motors / race gas etc seem to have replace plugs more often or every season. New to me car is twin turbo on 110 race gas and just wondering how often I should be replacing plugs.

I was told with Race gas you should replace yearly................

It’s good to check gaps every so often.

Yearly on a boosted motor.

quite often.

seen many turbo cars show up to my dyno for poor performance. a new set of plugs cures many of them.

plugs dont last on turbo motors, ESPECIALLY the iridium type. these plugs live in a much richer and higher temp environment, and the longevity suffers. i never run iridium on turbo motors.

for the casual duner, once a season is fine.

if you find you need plugs more often, look at your wires (replace) as their quality breaks down with heat, and verify you aren't running too cold of a plug.
