My gripe isn't just being a civilian, it's a civilian receiving subsidies from the Government while looking for "efficiencies." Just happens to be able to see other financials while he's at it. None of you would let that happen to your own business.

It's quite effed that someone who has numerous government contracts may be auditing the very companies that hold some of those contracts. I'm sure he will find a way to give himself a pass or get a insiders look into his competitors and countries..

If it weren't for this concern, I wouldn't have an issue with what he's doing. It's the same as hiring any other outside firms; we don't know anything about them either...

If not a private citizen then who? Certainly no one associated with the government in any way, right. Him being a billionaire is going to make it harder for existing bureaucrats and politicians to pay him off. What is the worry here about what he has access to? Can you be a little more descriptive when you say "run amok in there"? And just as important, do you work for or somehow benefit from the Government?

One could argue that the civilians who work there in the oversight department also get subsidies from the government.

And it's also obvious, based on the findings coming out, that questionable use of taxpayer money, and maybe outright FWA has been a major issue there.

Exactly, It's like when the Wife says can you clean up the garage and you go out there and move a few things around and turn on the TV and start drinking beer.
A week later you tell her your off to the Dunes for the weekend and ask if she wants to go, her response is no I think I will stay home and clean up the garage.

Five minutes later you are in the garage on the phone to your buddy baling out on the Glamis trip so you can get the garage cleaned up, because the last thing you want is to let her do it.

I guess us petty civilians should just pay our taxes and like it? Don't be concerned that more than half of our earnings are being spent to harm us and scare us into paying even more. Oh, no no no no no...
And this BS about a civilian auditing these criminals....Who then? Everyone's a civilian until they're not.
And didn't I just hear John Kennedy say Elon has a top secret security clearance? Is he a civilian? Are civilians an inferior part of the population now?

No body better that Elon on this task. All he can do is show what they find. He can't change anything only tell whats going on. And you don't want that.

Exactly, he points out the waste and gives his recommendation to the POTUS. I also believe that at some point that is where Trump and Elon will part ways Elon will say do this and save this and Trump will say no, we are going to keep that.
