Water line routing

My return water line has always gone up over the top of my headers. I've always thought it was too dangerously close to the headers on one side, and plug wires on the other. It hasn't been an issue yet in the dunes, but our baja trip finally cooked it since we were driving 2+ hours at a time. I've noticed a good number of LS water lines routing up over the valve cover, but I'm hoping to drop it down low with the cold water side below the header. Any reason not to do that? I can extend the water line and go higher above the valve cover, but isn't as clean of an application in my opinion.

Mine was hardlined for both supply and return, I went to -20 braided and don't have any regrets. The only reason I changed was the hardlines were an absolute hooker to get in & out when needed.

Perfect, I'll drop it down low then. I would go to braided but my pickups are welded to the water pump. If I ever go to a Meziere pump I'll switch

The hardline is probably safer for your dual sport use...wish I hadn't thrown mine away, I'd give them to you.
