What happened to my Craftsman Air compressor?

We went to Hawaii a couple months ago and came back to this air compressor not working. It was off and did not have much air in it.

The box with the on/off switch was popped open. Looks like its spring loaded inside.

Can this be repaired? Or just get a new one? I am using a little one I used to use in motorhome that's much too slow.

unplug it

take the cover off of the switch

use a screw driver to push & pull & see which part has the contact & flips back & forth.

click the switch shut & plug it back in & make sure the compressor fires back up. (watch the pressure because it might not turn off)

if it fired up the compressor motor, you know the switch did not come back from vacation with you & needs to be replaced (which it probably does).

with some luck you will be able to find a replacement on Flea-Bay.  Hell McMaster or Grainger probably have something that will work.

 
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen replacement switches at Tractor Supply. 

 
It may be easier to buy another one and sell this one. Who wants it?

True Value has switches....about 25 bucks, if I remember right.  AND, they really aren't hard to change.

If you can't fix it...you shouldn't have one.

My itty-biity Craftsman is a throw-away...although I did change the piston in it.

 
Sold for $125 to an electrician on the job site!
