I have a few friends that have to work between the two.. when I was a machinist in my youth we always did. When I got into sales later though they’d make us work it but nothing would ever get done?

You guys working or do your employees work between the two?

Today is my last day of the year.
Heading to Glamis tomorrow and back home on the 3rd.
Clean everything, relax and back to work on the 6th.
Happy New Year everyone!

Working.

I had the time scheduled for vacation but have been out over a month and giving my peers a break since they have been fantastic covering me since Thanksgiving.

not working till Jan 6th and the time is fully paid by the company, plus a hefty christmas bonus

Which begs the second question..

Bonuses.. is that expected nowadays or a pleasant surprise?

bonus only happens if the company has a good year, some years we would not get a pay raise or bonus, so its a Suprise.

I would say its expected, and Uncle Sam loves them !! Trump had some mentions of not taxing bonuses, Who thinks that will ever happen ? I dont

Working from home instead of in office.
I save my vacation for dune trips and weeks in Mexico during the summer.

Warehouse labor here. We had Christmas eve and Christmas off, weekends off, and New Years eve and New Years off. I'm good with that. Sucks they land in the middle of the week but I've had to work through holidays before so I'll take it and smile.

i run a small business. we worked half day christmas eve and half day new years eve. but working normal the other days. our stuff does not really take a holiday, i was expecting today to be slower, in the sense of customer service type stuff it has been very quiet i only took one call today and only a couple emails. but our production was just as busy as any other day. i expect tomorrow and the start of next week to be the same.
personally, im taking monday tuesday off to be out in glamis for new years but back in the office on the 2nd

Working... We only Get xmas day off and New years day off and if we call off or go home early the day before or day after the holiday they will NOT pay us for the Holiday.. Also No Bonuses.. We wish but with this company as BIG as it is it seems monthly they remind us we are lucky to have a Job

Yep ..

Penske was like that when I worked at Longo.

When someone would cook up some new responsibilities to lay on us, and we would ask How we would be compensated for this, the answer was Always the same...

Well, you get to keep your job of course!

🙄🤣😜

Wife took the shifts of a fellow nurse that has a young family.
Wife retires next week because she extended to help others.

Wife walk into the house this morning from work with a stack of presents from the nurses she would always trade shift for so they could be home with their kids at Christmas and other special family times. (They would never reciprocate and trade for her).

Maynard is off for Two Weeks home helping me with projects he disagrees with, all the other kids have gone skiing all over the world.
