  1. We will be doing repairs out in the dunes.  A lot of the times we can bring out parts and get most SXS's out of the dunes.  And sometimes make a permanent fix out there to keep the shredding for the rest of the week/weekend. :ez:

The amount the vendors get to put in there pocket is the same across the board, Weather you buy from the ASA, Cycle Shop or at the AM/PM they all get the same cut.  Not sure what happens to that $6.00 or so they get.

If memory serves me one member here owns some gas stations in Yuma and El Centro who sold them.  Not only did he make pennies for selling them he also had to buy up front.  Which is why you will find that towards the end of the season weekly passes get real hard to find. Nobody wants to shell out for something that becomes void and if you had two left in inventory the entire season could be a bust.

That bee me.  Yes, we make $6 on a yearly and a $1.50 on weekly.  You are also correct on buying them upfront.  I just shelled out $15,000.00 in passes yesterday. We do get to return them for a refund at the end of the season. But it usually takes a few months to get our money back. :ez:

I tried to get a hold of 2 others who posted here years ago to get a rebuild I never got a call back or anything.

I just learned to do them myself. Mine are just 2.0 foxes but also did my brothers 3.0 bypasses lil secret not much different to rebuild.

but no matter what these days your always gonna have an unhappy customer

Definitely not hard to do.  Some of the shocks require special tools, but that s about it.  The rebuilding is the easy part.  Spring rates, valve stacks and other misc is where the DIY guy will struggle.  :ez:

I just read on Facebook about an unhappy customer. I also see him posting that he does all the suspension work.

I did see that also.  Something bugs me about him.  I've "encouraged" him to become a sponsor on here.  But he just ignores me.  After being a longtime sponsor of gd.com, the ASA, CORVA and numerous other things, it always pisses me off to see someone not support this page.  But instead, use the people and it's reach for their personal gains.  I put back into the dune community and expect others to also.  As far as the Facebook post, I saw the same.  Anyone that states the ST and MTS shock tuning is all "hype" is not a shock tuner.  No one hates ST more than me, but they do some decent work at times. :ez

  5. I've been building and repairing them for 15+ years.  Professionally for 10+ years.  I've had numerous LT rails and just sold my Funco because it sat around way too much.  That and I think the economy is going to chit the bed and rails are going to lose 15-25% of their value here next season.

The changes in the SXS over the last 8 years has been crazy.  The amount of money it has brought into our sport is huge.  Factory support for race teams and racing organizations is great for the sport.  The off-road industry as a whole has grown and excelled tremendously.  Sure, there are a few bad apples with the bunch, but they will weed themselves out here when the economy dumps.  SXS will not be the reason if the dunes close.  It will be the people.  Trash is trash.  No matter what they are driving/riding.  With companies like Polaris and Can Am making huge financial investments into the dunes, it will only be a plus when the Gov comes knocking on the door to close them.

How do I describe todays modern SXS? A machine that is very capable in providing family fun and a thrill for adrenaline junkies.  From exploring mountain trails, to ripping the dunes.  No, they are not as fast as a good LT rail, but they are fun.  Nothing better than being able to use the same vehicle to go rock climbing, Baja rips, trail cruising, dune running and then hit the local grocery store.  They have brought a lot of new friends and family out to enjoy things I have been doing for 40+ years. :ez:

  6. I sell about 500 set ups a year. Both Rugged and PCI.  I have been dealers for them for 10+ years.  Both have their positives and negatives. IMO, the Rugged headsets are a much better setup. Also, Rugged has the new STX hi-fi stereo set up (similar to PCI TRAX). Sounds great. Rugged also has the newer M1 radio that is waterproof. Can’t go wrong with either. I have a huge sale on Rugged right now. Message me directly. I can get you 20%+ off of everything except helmets. :ez:

I already get to travel thru Beautiful Westmoreland and Enchanting Brawley.....you want me to add Imperial, El Centro and Holtville to that drive?

I do like to camp at Little Dumont vs Dumont, would it be a similar experience?

    :poke:

I think your best bet would be to take the 78 past Glamis, make a right on Ogilby road.  Then head west on the 8 to Gordons.  It would save you a ton of time...  :bangin: :ez:

  10. All of the Glamis snobs.....

Best part of Gordons and Buttercup is that I'm out there most weekends.  I'm a vendor out there.  I do repairs, shock tuning, sell parts and drink all beer that is brought to me by my awesome customers.

Gordons is tough at times, but it got a chit ton of rain the last few weeks.  It will make it a lot easier to get in and out.  I pull my 40' pusher with a 28' enclosed out there 10-15 times a year.  If I go to Buttercup (rarely), I park at Midway.  :ez:
