I have many stories about Wally, one most memorable was when we had just left Devils and my rear outer -lower 5 link threaded bung just pulled out of the carrier. Well thanks to Wally and his supply of bailing wire we stuck it back in the hole and wired the heck out of it and I was able to drive it all the way back to camp. Another time he stopped by our cabin and the wife offered him some breakfast so he took a plate of scrambled eggs and sitting on the couch with his pups he proceeded to feed them first, with his fork. Those dogs were his life and whenever one of them died he was just devastated for weeks.

We lost a legend yesterday, Wally Reed , known by many as "Duct tape Wally", a name he wasn't particularly fond of but loved the fame. He lost his battle with lung cancer yesterday. I met him years ago in St Anthony dunes as he would spend the summers there. You may have read the article I wrote about him some years ago in Sand Sports magazine called "Bona Fide Duner" Many from Glamis have met him and if you have you  would have remembered him. We shared many miles in the dunes and his buggies weren't the stuff featured articles were about but I watched him keep up with any of the groups he chased around. Please if you have met him , please share your experience here. Godspeed Wally!!!
