Problem out there unless you're on the property 24/7 are the tweakers - they are in prolific numbers out there and are relentless regardless of how many alarms and cameras you have. Buyer Beware.

The property is across the  road from an Air B&B, (Very High End) so I suspect its safe.

Anyway, the "Cabin" is double insulated, air tight with all joints in the frame caulked for sound.

Windows are all double pane insulated, and have wood covers for when you are away.

New roof, Solar panel with LED lights, Septic tank for poo. Propane instant water heater for the shower.

The wood stove is air tight, with a heat circulation ring added.

However the owner says you can heat with a cigarette lighter.

Again, one third or the five acres is fenced, with three gates, two on one side, one on another.

A power pole is next to the un fenced portion of the property( 2/3 ).

Power could be hooked up and a conduit run to the cabin.

As it sits, it was used as a "Weekender" cabin, and minimal build out was needed.

but the property has much potential. Most plots here carry water from a central city supplied connection.

Yes, some property plots have water service, however this one does not.

The owner had five properties, some with houses, some un developed.

This one is offered at $120k, I should get back to him this week.

Here are a few pictures I took yesterday.

  2. JOHNSON VALLEY — A 28-year-old woman from Yucaipa died from injuries she suffered in a crash Tuesday at the off-highway vehicle area in Johnson Valley.

California Highway Patrol spokesman M. Radford said the victim was riding in a Polaris off-road vehicle, but was not part of one of the official races for the King of the Hammers events going on in Johnson Valley this week.

According to the CHP, around 5:22 p.m., a 30-year-old man from Yucaipa was driving a 2021 Polaris RZR northbound in the Better Sand Dunes area with two passengers. The Polaris crested a hill before overturing and rolling multiple times.

Jessica Leann Sharp, 28, from Yucaipa, was in the left backseat and suffered major injuries. Sharp was flown from the scene to a Morongo Basin Ambulance nearby, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver suffered moderate injuries. A 24-year-old Yucaipa man in the right front seat suffered major injuries. Both were taken to Desert Regional Medical Center.

All of the people in the Polaris were wearing helmets and harnesses, the CHP said. None have been identified by the CHP or coroner.

The crash is under investigation. The CHP said alcohol or drugs were not a factor.

“Thousands of visitors from all over the world will be in the Johnson Valley Off-Highway Vehicle Area for the King of the Hammers events. We encourage everyone to be safe, watch their speed, wear seat belts and helmets and operate vehicles while sober,” Radford said.

The King of the Hammers racing events began Friday, Jan. 27, and will continue through Saturday, Feb. 11. Organizers said 897 teams have entered and tens of thousands of spectators are expected in Johnson Valley.

  3. Update On The Property. Five acres fenced.

Fenced, 18x24 house, bathroom, poop pit, no electricity, 40 foot container.

Military property next door, can see the King Of The Hammers from porch.

I plan on attending the King of Hammers for a look see.

    Any interest in a co-op?

Clearly the property will have to pass careful review, zoning, any unknowns etc.

I have a firm invitation (with beer) to the race. I will keep you all posted.

The owner also has a 5 acre site blank dirt.

I'll know more after I meet him tomorrow. (Yes, beer may be involved.)

  4. Guy I know called and asked about "Any Interest" in a Johnson Valley 5 acre, with house, property.

Not sure of the details, but it's near the "Hammers" event.

If anyone needs a desert git-away in the 100k plus range, I'll find out exact details.

I'm meeting this guy Saturday for a chat.

Let me know of any interest.  I think 5 acres should be a nice plot of land.

  6. Bob wrote this film for "The Smothers Brothers" titled

"Another Nice Mess". Filmed in Beverly Hills using the old Howard Hughes mansion.

The Hughes mansion was owned then by Ava Gabor. I spent a couple of weeks there.

The movie stared Rich Little as Richard Nixon. The dialog was all as Laurel and Hardy.

May your friend R.I.P.  I’m sorry for your loss @JDMeister

He was an interesting guy. Like many comedians, very self conscious.

But, very smart, and continued to write for many TV shows.

His younger brother is Albert Brooks and he still writes.

I wish I had been gifted his 356 Porsche roadster. Maybe next time.

  8. I worked with Bob back in the 1970s. He was a talented writer, comedian, actor, producer. His family were and still are writers, producers and so on.

He made many comedy "Skits" for many TV shows, "Officer Judy" for the "Smothers Brothers" Show. His own show was called "Super Dave Osborne" and was a hit for a few seasons. As a writer he can be read about over on IMDB or Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Einstein

Here is a TV late night show. 'Campy"..

  9. Friday PM, we arrived in Resume Speed Costa Rica.

    Very nice hotel, good food.

Today, lunch at a "World Famous" restaurant, El Avion here in  Manuel Antonio.

The airplane is one purchased by the CIA to use flying drugs to different destinations.

    (You choose)

You can google it if you wish. https://www.elavion.net/

Tonight we booked an entire Boeing 727 for the evening.

It's a Boutique hotel, and yes we have the entire airplane.

How often can you spend the night in a 727 hotel?
