Right... of course we did triple bypasses, bumps etc. on mine.  This vid was meant to show the fender cut, but sort of shows some of the susp:

A good bit has changed since then (bumpers, GenIII 426cui Hemi, big brakes, different wheels/tires, stereo, etc.) but that will give you an idea.

  2. We live on one of the two streets in the SD Country Estates that goes crazy for Halloween. We don't decorate but normally sit out in the driveway with the propane fire bowl going and hand out candy. We ended up sitting it out this year. I got home too late from work and it was complete madness outside, I just wanted quiet.

    Hahaha.
At a certain race, a photographer was racing and asked us to take pics of him while racing.
FNG whipped his crank out and we photographed that instead.
you can’t make that up!!! Hahaha

🤣  Mike was scarred for life

  4. Also had an issue with PEC brand lower control arms causing a death wobble in my WJ Grand Cherokee recently. Fortunately I had held onto the original control arms with 277k miles on them and was able to put them back in and no more death wobble. What I'm trying to get at is especially lately that most aftermarket replacement parts are literal garbage. I'm a 20+ year auto tech for a living and it has been pretty sad to watch the changes happening. I try to stick with genuine OE parts whenever possible for replacement. Now actual upgraded parts like say Cognito don't seem to have the same issues.

  5. Wow. Glad you're ok after that.

My 06 LBZ has just shy of 175k on it now, torsion bars have been turned up since 12k at which time I also installed the Cognito idler and pitman supports (which are the single best upgrade you can do to a GM IFS IMHO). Running 33" A/Ts. At 150k I replaced the upper arms, tie rods, idler and pitman arms for good measure. I used Moog upper arms and their 'upgraded' pitman and idler arms. Also did Cognito tie rods. Had it aligned multiple times but the truck would never drive properly after the parts were installed. Last month I replaced the idler and pitman arms again as they were completely clapped the eff out as well as the upper arms because the ball joints were loose. Not even 25k miles on them, WTF? The Cognito tie rods are a-ok. The original OE parts were worn at 150k but still very much serviceable. Needless to say I replaced them all with Genuine GM parts this time, NOT ACDelco replacement parts, had it aligned and whaddya know, it drives like it should again.

  6. As the title says, I'm looking for a dealer that might not trash my '21 Grand Cherokee. The AC evaporator is now leaking which means the dash has to come out to replace. Any recommendations? Reviews seem to show the same super shitty issues at all the dealers, what gives? I recently finally got done dealing with a near 10 month ordeal at the dealer in Poway where much damage was done while they attempted to repair another issue. Needless to say the Jeep has a new dash, panoramic sunroof frame, headliner, gear shift, console and dash trim pieces, multiple pillar trims, seat upholstery and foams, air bags, exterior trim, etc etc etc. so I will not go back there and now have serious trust issues with this brand. I'm contemplating doing it myself but it's a huge job and still under warranty so trying to decide what to do. 20 years ago me would have no issue tackling it myself but today me is tired.

    Thanks

  7. Wife and I did that cruise with Princess 15 years ago and it was AWESOME! Need to do it again. I highly recommend taking the White Pass and Yukon Railway excursion in Skagway. Our cruise also took us into Tracy Arm fjord and turned around at Sawyer Glacier. I need to find the pictures from that trip.

  8. Those of us in the VW crowd call those Bitch Baskets! BUT they're still rad little things. Whilst I have an appreciation for the Mk1 cars, dealing with their fuel injection systems just plain sucks. All the guys that I know that used to work on them have moved on with their lives and are into different things nowadays otherwise I'd offer some recommendations. A Mk3 ABA swap would be the ticket IMHO since they're so simple and reliable.

    Exactly!

WTF??? What difference does it effing make if they are dumping the different kinds of trash on top of each other anyways!

I do know the brown trashcan (yard waste one)...is a separate truck, but the black (trash) and Green (recycle) I think is the same truck... :simrak:

Yeah, I know the yard waste is a different truck here, it's always picked up later in the day. Interesting how the colors are so different depending where you are. Ours are grey for trash, blue for recycle and green for yard waste.

  10. This is a state thing. We got the notice down here a while back. After I saw the trash truck pick up and dump my grey trash bin then move 3 feet forward and grab the blue recycle bin and dump it on top of the trash he just put in the truck, I've opted to not follow their protocol.

Kudos, to you. Everyone's standards are different.

He's used a Sharpie to fill in gaps from short tint cuts on most of the rest of this website's vehicles. It's all good.

Since he screwed me over (on two vehicles), I found someone that uses better tint (twice as thick, twice the quality) and actually likes to tint vehicles. He charges half of what Tyler does and the quality of the finished job is 2-3 times better.

Can confirm this. It was also pretty rad when the tint he used turned purple in very short order. Lesson learned.

  12. Looked into it. Being in the SD Estates it's hit n miss for coverage. Asked a lot of people. Some loved it, most did not. Problem is you're the first to be kicked off if the system is loaded heavy. Decided to stay with AT&T.

  13. I can tell you that while I love(d) my '21 Grand Cherokee WK2 the dealer and mfg support is the biggest joke I've ever dealt with and can never suggest that anyone buy a new or near new Mopar vehicle due to what I've been through the last 7 months with it. It is a great driving vehicle and you get a lot of vehicle for the money but damn. I've been a Vw/Audi technician for 23+ years and everyone loves to talk crap about the German vehicles but I have NEVER dealt with worse support for a vehicle than with this Jeep.
