Never really had a reason to mention it, but I own a pool construction/service/supply business. The robotic cleaners kick ALL OTHER cleaners ass, as far as performance. They are pretty close in the reliability avenue as well. The biggest drawback to robotic cleaners is that you have to completely change your mindset on how your cleaner and pool work. With a suction (or pressure) cleaner, it stays in the pool and your pool is clean every time you want to use it. With a robotic, it doesn't live in the pool. You have to throw it in when your pool needs to be cleaned, but the good part is your pool is clean in a few hours.
If you don't want to change how you live with your pool, the Pool Cleaner or the Zodiac MX6 (or MX8) are the best suctions cleaners for us. We've tried many different suction cleaners, but the Pool Cleaner is the one we keep replacing with. My $.02.
