Speed UTV

But the aftermarket highlights areas where the purchaser disagreed with the decisions made by the OEM. RG doesn't like that.
In Magical Speed-landia those are called "Upgrades", "Race-Ready Enhancements" and such and sold to you at a Premium by the same guy you wrote the initial check to.

Also FIFY "where the purchaser found the flaws, crappy production issues and poor design decisions made by the OEM."

Lol, most of the aftermarket is stereo systems and lighted whips…

Who even watches that shit???

I watched ONE and realized Mr Gordon has absolutely zero mechanical skill/knowledge.

Maybe he's a good driver, but I think it takes a tiny bit more than that, to be a good builder/fabricator.

Sheesh.

Oh shit.....

I just realized something, right now this second...

I'm thinking he maybe had AI design the car? It sure would explain a whole lot!!!

😁😁😁

As someone who has worked on the same bench with him, I fully disagree with this statement.

Maybe that says something about my mechanical knowledge. Think what you will.

I don't agree with everything he thinks/does, but he has some really good idea's. I would say his only downfall is not accepting advise or idea's from those he works with (I have a few personal examples of this).

Fair enough.

We all know what opinions are worth. And mine is no different!

😁

V8 trailing arms... Not familiar with the tech but someone said it Mason did it first. Some kind of dual driveshaft v-drive thang?

Similar idea to what Mason is doing, but this is an independent trailing arm vs a solid axle.

The driveshaft will parallel the center of the trailing arm and enter the hub via the hole you see in the first picture. Then it uses a bevel gear like used in his portal hub design. The drive shaft now only has one pivot point at the same pivot plain as the trailing arm. So now you could in theory get 30-40 degrees of angle depending on the u-joint or cv used at that pivot.

This design has come with some conflict as Robby Woods claims to have thought of it, and was telling RG about this idea and concept. Next thing he knows RG is saying it’s his idea and filling patents on the design.

No offense but this isn't saying much. He's been doing this his entire life and it's his Family's history/legacy. He SHOULD have good ideas.

But... as has been stated before... most of his ideas are likely never 100% his own and stolen from someone else, at their expense.

There are kids building trucks in their own (or their parents garage) in San Diego/LA/Riverside that have the same level of aptitude and likely better fabrication skills than Robby. I know a few that he could learn a thing or two, from.

LOL. There he goes taking shit from the 60s, mildly improving it, and calling it unique again.

The "unique" thing here for him is he pointed it the other direction, it's incorporated into the trailing arm (the brace mid-span is an odd design choice), and uses portals vice hypoid gears.

@Rockwood ah snap you win! I hope someone has posted that on his IG, ha ha

cool never saw that before, wonder what car it went into. Says cutlas vx4 but only aircraft stuff shows up from a quick search

Originally designed by Dana in 1965, it ended up in 70s Ford Econolines like this bad boy:

And was sold under the VEMCO V-drive license.

Waaaaait a second!

That shit's already patented!!!

Many have already pointed out the Ford Van has this concept in the 60’s. But if you change it enough it can be patentable.

Yep, including me 2 years ago when it first came out.

By enough, you mean any of the Claimed items in a patent. :)
