Do you think that much would come in just from the two open holes?The sand is coming in from the top. The bent sheet metal piece bolted to your adapter is typically enough for the bottom. Clean up the mess, install a new seal, and plug the highlighted holes with a finger full of silicone.

If it's been a couple seasons since the trans was out, or seal replaced, yes. If it could get in through the bottom, it would likely leave that way too.Do you think that much would come in just from the two open holes?
