Obliviously its your site and your call. Change is not necessarily a bad thing. The majority of people who are active on the site have been here for a very long time. Most will argue to leave the logo be. In my opinion the real issue is the examples shown are just not very good. I would just ask if you could come up with more ideas/ choices. And yes I have 20 plus years on the site as well lol

It's a business, not a community for some......for others it's a community, not a business. What's more valuable.... a 68 honda Z50 that is bone stock, Original....or one with all kinds of aftermarket crap on it? Sometimes the old stuff means something.

Coors light or corona..

That said this is a stab and revamping the image of the site and community. Which definitely needs a revamp.. I understand the resistance to change but we also need to understand that what it is isn’t working and hasn’t for a long time.. if it was I wouldn’t be here. I’m sure that won’t make a few happy but end of the day it is the reality.

It has been working just fine for those of us that are addicted and have no financial investment in the site :).The crash was a HUGE loss to the site. There was a TON of info in there and any newbie could learn a lot just reading through old threads. If I remember correctly I think I did just that for about a year before I started mouthing off.

The old logo isn't affecting traffic and a new logo isn't going to either. But it's yore site now and you've done quite a job with the river site. If you're going to try to increase traffic and make the site better and you think a new logo is part of that then have at it. But if it were me, I'd just do it. Asking the OG'S probably isn't going to help. And trying to convince them is going to be an uphill battle. If you want opinions ask Chris and your family and friends what they think. Then just make the call and do it. You'll get plenty of feedback. If it doesn't work, just change the effing thing back.

I stand by my earlier post though. I think the og logo is better than the ones you posted and still think you should delete all those emails and respond to the text messages.

I could see updating the current original logo but to completely change It would market it look like as different site and get passed by. It’s iconic and have shown people the logo and they know where to click. Try sharpening the original. Think you’ll get better results. Look at KIA for example their logo changed so much people thought it was a new car company. If I was spiffy with computers I’d try the fast and furious movie font with different blues and orange maybe make the orange be a silhouette of the dunes and blue be the sky?

I have a great idea of a new logo, I need to find and old comp'd pic I did of Supreme Air (Aaron), Carlos @Carlos and Ocotillo Boy (OB)..............
Those that know...Know!
@O Soto Gari (John) he knows...he's the reason I did it!!!
LMAO

All 15 members are offended with change? why didn’t he ask us first, lol
Look at the stats alone, GD - avg 10-20 members and 100+ viewers at any given time. Versus RDP - 100s of members , with 1000s viewing at any given time. Only members can vote or comment, hell , would be easier to just group text GD members 😂
GD has been dying long before Dave and Chris took over. No one looking to edge out old timers, just like rdp old brings knowledge. But something has to change to bring back the life to this forum. Or it will age out and die. The old logo can look as cool as KMET and KNAC swag of the past. Everyone can see your stickers and say remember………

Personally, logo change or don’t. Don’t care. I think giving manufactures a stage would help. Fab shops. Motor builders. Utv companies that do a lot of IG daily posts, could easily add their content here. Most avoid because of negative comments. Or bad experience at one point in time. Why would a builder post for 4 comments after someone says, that’s old tech why do it that way. When they really don’t know shit. Motor builders, every builder someone says their builds are shit or my buddy…… or the that paint / interior sucks kicking builder and buyer in the nuts, lol
Keep comments positive or neutral and they’ll post. Posts of good or cool content brings views, views bring new members to interact.

Do some get togethers, poker run, parties, the fun group, cool kids representing w GD etc. people see , peeks interest and just keeps snowballing.

This might seem like a big leap here, but why not finalize 4 or 5 possible logos as well as the OG logo and maybe an updated OG logo then have the people at the SSSS vote. Have ballots ready to be filled out and grab peoples Email addresses at that time, you could even give away some swag to encourage participation. Sign up new members figure out what the masses are saying about logo's hand out some swag and sign up some new members.

Then with the Email addresses you got send out a sign-up email after the show.
