I liked some of these logos and again was using that site (which all in about 800.00 all in) just to get us some concepts of which I can have my guys dial them in.

I’m happy to put up a cash spot for a new logo if someone can develop something applicable and better for the site.

Honestly, the logo is a GOOD part of this site. The "Good ol' Boys" group is dissipating and moving on (or shelving behavior since they don't have the support they once did). Your purchase of the site has expedited that on it's own.

The group that you are referring to (and that I have been vocal about and discussed with you) is less than 12 people. Maybe even down to 6. The rest are just really good friends that have hung out or intertwined for over 20 years in a variety of situations. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT HERE.

The overinflated ego's have been silenced to a good level and I think just increasing visibility is all you really need to succeed, bring up member volume and interaction. It's already happening.

Stop trying to put in terms that somehow those of us who have been part of glamis and this site for over 20 years all the sudden "don't understand". Pretty condescending. You look at this as dollars and cents. It's clear. You lack passion for Glamis and the sand sport community. You need to find that or listen to others that have it. If you'd rather turn this into a lame social media following like desert whips or whatever influencer flavor...go ahead. This site will be dead in a year.

You yourself have said you've been to glamis once. Geezus. Listen to you membership. I even made a point to try and talk to you here in town a few times. You don't listen.
 
Maybe keep the old school font but change the background

This is a horrible attempt but an idea nonetheless.

That is an interesting perspective for sure..

Honestly I haven’t been around enough to know exactly who the good ole boys are yet.. lol. I pretty much rely on. Grease Monkey for any and all things gd.com because he seems to have a real level head on his shoulders and knows the ins and outs of everything.

I fully expect some resistance to change here and I get it..

However I can say as an outsider that the OG logo just feels kinda “soft” at least to me.. I’d prefer something different more hardlined, sinister if I could get it.. or at a minimum a throw back shredded style font with the bright colors that the younger gen is going for see “shreddy” and a million other examples..

That said if these seven aren’t it I can take another stab at it. I like something easily recognizable, easy to embroider, and looks good on a hat or front of a shirt..

Sorry but I've been here for over 20 yrs... That is just Bullshit. There are OG people here, just like the river, just like Glamis that have strong opinions and voice them, but there is no way they are not welcoming to outsiders.... Whoever told you that is full of shit. I have watched people come on and ask questions and ask for referrals to vendors and they were all welcomed and helped... Again you are searching for a problem that doesn't exist.

But hey it's your site, do what you wish with it.

I personally think that post sounds like the Progressives in CA wanting to "Fix" the suburban neighborhoods ....that just aren't welcoming. Sounds like you have an idea of how this site should be and your going to make it the way you think it should be....we are all along for the ride. I hope it works out for you.

I never said I have been to Glamis once? I said I have been there a hand full of times which is about 12 in total now, across three different vehicles.

Only time I met ya in person was at my office during a little meet and greet? I think the total in conversation was less than 2 minutes?

What are we talking about here?

That said this is a stab and revamping the image of the site and community. Which definitely needs a revamp.. I understand the resistance to change but we also need to understand that what it is isn’t working and hasn’t for a long time.. if it was I wouldn’t be here. I’m sure that won’t make a few happy but end of the day it is the reality.

As it's been said already, a lot of us here have been here going on 20 years, we've had our battles, our laughs, our tears but mostly a love and passion for Glamis that keeps us united with respect for one another.
Much like your other site will have the same type of OG crew following it daily. It's your site but I wouldn't sway too far away from what is known and respected by the majority.
Since your takeover it seems the site has dulled, not saying that's your fault but the crash and sell did have a very hard impact, I like that you're trying to think of things to revitalize the site, more power to you and hope the best!!

Some thoughts, try and get the builders out there more involved on the site with highlighting build threads of Sand Rails, SXS, Toy Haulers etc...folks love that stuff and it's free advertising for the builders. As mentioned, YouTube / Social Media activity will definitely bring in a younger crowd...but you'll need us OG's to teach them to respect Glamis and their neighbors. Get some of the big dealers out there more involved as well, I spoke with Frankie at GiantRV and told him he's missing the boat by not advertising on GD.Com.....he thinks it's a great idea....but I know he hasn't done anything with it for now.

What IS your end goal? lots of traffic here and nonsense posts asking the same damn question like those Kanadian Vertical scope guys? I personally cant stand places like that with retards not searching before asking something that has been asked a million times.

This site is one of the small handful of places i check in on a few times a day, tons of great solid info and adult conversations. Well when you ignore the old guy with tinfoil hat and crazy meme posts.

lol I am not vertical scope by any means.. they have tried to buy rdp several times along with their competitors.

I don’t go around purchasing forums to whore them out while destroyed by the community. Point in fact I have never purchased another forum other than this one with Chris.

I take a very personal involvement with my other forum and plan to here as well.

The goal is simple.. Growth!

The intention is growth through quality content both educational and entertainment. That said educational would be tech, entertainment would be other things..

With growth you can sell advertising (applicable to the forum) and intrinsically (for myself) real estate.

To give you an example I don’t sell ads to THC / weed companies on rdp even though I get asked weekly.. we sell ads to relevant companies.

The same would be for here.

In its current format in terms of “value” the domain name alone is worth more than the forum, and the forum has little to no ad revenue.

If I was just here to rake the cash I’d make a single phone call and sell the domain and scrape the forum..

That isn’t my intention at all which is why I kinda snicker at people that try to make me look like I’m twisting my evil mustache over here.

It’s quite the opposite.

Makes sense.

However, you're dealing with A LOT of folks who have been here for 20+ years. There's a serious investment made by all of us, here... to make it something worth YOU buying.

I'm at year 22, minus my lame ass Hiatus brought on by Stugots, Mac and some very weird emotional support for SandPsycho.
