  1. All the things to look forward too, lol. I was out at the dunes a few weeks back with my grandpa. Hes 85 and still leading the pack. just had a stint put in due to a minor stroke a couple weeks before the trip... its hard to watch him walk around slowly, especially through the sand. "gettin old is tough!.... I would have been ok to go at 70." - He has said this to me now multiple times, but hes a super healthy dude. Still works on those big quilting machines, eats plenty of garlic and butter with everything, never drank or smoked... not what he use to be but hes ok with it and so is everyone in the group. Im only 31, actually been thinking about my health since that trip, lucky for me I throw hot tires around most the day so its a decent work out.

    Whos the oldest on here?

These have a date code of 1966!! And were replaced by a nicer set with a date code of 1978 🤣. Rubber must have been better back then.

You love to see it! If there taken care of and not stored out in the sun, they last forever. I replaced my grandpas set on his sandrail last year after almost 20 years of use and abuse. they ended up going to a friend who is still putting miles on them. Thanks for sharing.

  3. We got out here on Monday, leaving tomorrow. Not a bad week right in between veterans and thanksgiving. It rained a couple days ago and hardened up the ruts. The past 2 nights have been foggy and the dew on everything is crazy. Never seen this much see out here, everything including seats are soaked.  Sand is holding it too. Ruts are getting deep in the common dunes. Hope for some wind sometime in the next few days for thanksgiving.

Simple... At least on the part of STU - They click the buy it now button on Alibaba and the entire shows up at their door ready for the hot knife.:classic_rolleyes::classic_rolleyes::classic_rolleyes:

These tires are made on the east coast. Similar to regular tire process. one of the very few truly all American sand tires. Yet, another reason they are more expensive, but yet better quality then the rest.
I just got my grandpa new tires, front and backs for his buggy. 18 years on the same Padla traks and front Razors... no massive chunks missing, still holding air just fine. infact, a friend ended up buying his old tires and are still running them!!

  5. Ive always hated that, but if your following the "surf code" it makes sense.

The sad reality is this is a play on "support local". However, when your dealing with the Sand toy capital of the world, more then most will pay the extra fee because most other states dont have dunes. and if they do, chances are there not as good. Its supposed to promote recreation in your home state. same as hunting, its to deter out of towners from taking "natural resources" from the locals.

Since Ive moved out of CA I see extra BS charges. I avoid as much as possible but some you just cant... and everytime I pay it I remember the glorious yells of " NO KOOKS" coming from the water, lol.

  6. I warmed up the car and revved it up when I got home, unfortunately it did not make it past 5300... I am in contact with a couple different tuners up here in UT to see if we can get it plugged in and maybe see some helpful messages, or just retune...

Does it rev clean to the limiter in neutral, just under boost, or any time you try to clear 5300rpm?

I never really like to rev to the limiter in Neutral. Ill rev it when I get home to day and see. Im starting to think maybe the pump isnt keeping up...

  8. I have a 2.5 Subaru I am trying to trouble shoot why it wont get past 5k rpm. Engine starts to stutter like its not getting enough fuel. only pushing around 10# boost...

It has new ignition coil pack, ign. wires, mapping sensor, new fuel lines, new fuel pump, new fuel filter... couldnt get past 5k.. I got new spark plugs, gapped to .025 and that helped it get to about 5300 rpm, motor seemed way more crisp leading up to it too (I was convinced rolling onto the throttle it was fixed with how much better it was running), but still not it..... any other suggestions?

  9. Well, the owner of the car lives up here in Utah and only has used it 2x over the last couple years. After meeting him, he offered it to me but I don’t have space for it for long. I have a car coming within a couple months.  In other words I need to find it a home.
