I bought a funco gen 3 about 8 years ago and have been changing a few things on it. The biggest change in the handling of the car was adding ping tanks, something had to be done about the rear end hopping, kind of spooked me a bit. They are 1/2 gallon capacity. Initially I had 3/8" lines between the rear bags and the tanks. It took some of the rear end hop out, changing to 1/2" air lines and backing out the bottom compression bypass added slow body roll but helped in the medium whoops. The ping tanks have a similar effect of adding a larger air bag. I run 42 psi in the rear at ride height, that increases dramatically during compression. When the air bag rebounds the 2.5 bypass shock has a hard time slowing it down. I know some of the high end cars are using 3" and larger shocks, this was not an option for me. Just trying to share a little info with others. There are more than a handful of gen 3's out there, and great cars! Love them funcos!!!

Good looking car! I have its younger sibling # 151. These buggies are like slot cars. Who ever buys it will have a blast in the dunes. GLWTS!

Veterans day is quickly approaching, scheduled for new powder coat on monday and I’m in the later stages of updating the look of my gen 3. I discovered excessive play in the trailing arm uniballs. The problem I’m having is finding a replacement for them. Pretty much all the number 12 uniballs I find have the outside diameter at 1.4375. Too small for the machined cups in my trailing arms. I’m seeing 1.497 with my calipers, I did zero it prior to measuring. Any body have any info on a replacement???
