Thanks for the links THD. Now to get sheep to actually think with their own mind instead of just drinking the koolaid*

*That does not mean anyone that has gotten the vax is a koolaid drinker. I just want people to be able to do research, if they want to, and make up their own mind on what is going into their body. Not be forced (mandated) into getting it. If you made the decision to get it , great. If you decided not to get it great. But in both of those options YOU made the decision.

The FDA scientist voted overwhelmingly not to recommend the booster for most people. They recommended it for high risk and those over 65 though. Some of their top scientist resigned due to the booster being pushed by the Biden admin contrary to what FDA recommended

This is the first I have heard of this. Do you a link to there recommendations and about their top scientists resigning. I would love to be able to point some in my family to this, non bias link. Thanks.

  3. So the water pump in my 2002 Chevy finally decided to start marking it's territory (leaking pretty good out the weep hole). I am trying to find a good diesel tech in East County that can give me a quote to change out the water pump. I can do it myself but am pretty swamped right now so if the price is right I will let someone else do it. Anyone got a mechanic they  trust with their diesel?

Yes good idea. Not sure how long ago you dealt with Richard at Action. But now he has a warranty form that you sign, and he says his wife files. But it’s important to always keep a copy, which I have with my receipts. Because like you said if he can’t find it you could be SOL! Plus I got a print out from Ford showing they have the short block in my records attached to my vin.

This was my first time doing business with Richard & Action. But I was happy with the results, and when we said the AC was not blowing as cold as previous, he made no excuses, he evacuated and re-charged the system a second time.

He rebuild my motor about 3-1/2 4 years ago. Yep, same procedure. Separate form sent/given to his wife.

Just reviving and posting an update.

Action Cylinder Heads who was doing the engine swap....but for another $200 they add 2 more years.

Make sure YOU keep a copy of that 2 yr extended warranty paperwork safe and in a handy place where you know where it is. He says he does not keep records and requires you to bring in your copy for proof of the warranty. I some how lost my copy (not sure how I think we have every receipt ever brought into this house in the last 19yrs in a file cabinet) so I was SOL as far as the warranty extension. I will say that he was nice enough to look at the issue on my WJ and attempt to diagnose it for no charge.

  6. Anyone have a old set of wheels and tires (nothing over-sized) taking up room in their garage/yard they may want to get rid of? Looking for a set of 8-Lug wheels with a 8-6.5" bolt pattern. Have a new project that I just need a set of temporary rollers. Anyone got an old set of take offs or anything they what to get out of their way?

Roman empire, Persian empire, etc said the same thing? Open a history book.. not being a smart ass. We are not going g anything new. History repeats itself. Just different times with the tech we have

Those Empires went thru the same thing, as you say history repeats itself, but how did they fair, and where are those Empires now? I thi k that is the point trying to be made.

  8. DOH! Yep for my car.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Yeah, I already went and bought a can of R134a from Autozone with the hose/gauge. My only thing is I think it might be something other than the charge so don't want to over charge the system (pretty easy since with these can/hose/gauge things you only see the low pressure side.

I will give Kirk's a call no Monday. Always hear great things about them but then forget about them when I need to get work done.

  9. A/C just isn't blowing as cold as it used to so want to get a quick tune-up/check done on it. My normal spot off 67 is slammed so can't get in there. Anyone have a shop in East County (El Cajon/Lakeside/Santee) that is trust worthy and doesn't charge an arm and a leg.

  10. Not trying to start a debate on this or that, nor turn this into a political discussion just trying to do my own reading/research.

As someone still on the fence of whether or not to get "The Shot" I would like to do some real reading on the shots. Where are some good places to read up on them and their pluses and minuses that are just bias shout chambers. What sources have you guys used to base your decisions to get it or not. Not looking for "my sister's brother's friend told me".

If they would give FDA approval to the vaccine it would make the choice a whole lot easier. I really don't like that the manufactures can not be held liable.

  11. Not trying to get any personal info. Looking at a old truck sitting on the side of a guys house. Might have a deal set up but want to check inf there are any back registration fees. I have the the plate# but not the VIN, Anyone know someone that can check for back fees on a plate? That is all the info I am looking for is any back fees.

    1969 Chevy

    Plate# 919 MT2

It has taken me almost a year to get this guy to thing about making this deal and I forgot to grab the VIN when we were there and I think I might scare him off if I start asking about the VIN. Old guy is very interesting. Thanks for any help.

  12. Replacing the window will most likely require both panes to be replaced as they are a vacuum produced assembly. The are actually really easy for them to change. You will just need to find someone that can come measure it and make a new pane assembly. If you can figure out the manufacture most put a unique identifier printed somewhere on the frame. If you can find that you can call them up with that number (usually order#, window# and specific pane) and they already know the dimensions and make you a new one. We had 4 replaced by milgaurd a couple months ago and it was just one phone call and one visit from them to install them.

  13. Thanks for all the advice everyone. Switching it over to the other 5MFD terminal is still working like a champ today. I will still change out the cap this week as I assume my current fix is just temporary.

Never thought of the box fan idea. I will definitely keep that in my pocket for next time.

Or you could have just called me jack ass! Now that I’ve called you out on here, I will just call you myself.

Why would I have called you. You work in refrigeration....  DOH! hahaha

  14. Welp Fan tests good. So looks like the cap is the issue. Lucky for me, temporarily, who ever change the cap last time put a "universal" cap in it and it has Qty2 5 MFD post on it. So I switched the fan lead from the original 5MFD post to the other and now my fan, and by extension my AC, is working again. I am still going to change out the cap as I figure if one portion of it failed the others aren't far behind.

I will check Grainger on Monday. Of course they are closed on the weekends when things actually break.

    Thanks for all the suggestions.

  15. So since we are in this nice cool spell right now (not) my house AC decided to take a sheet. I have it narrowed down to either the cap or the condenser fan motor, doing the final troubleshooting this morning in the light. Problem I have now is I can't find anyplace that will sell to the public. Anyone know of a place in San Diego, preferable East County, that sells to the public? Appreciate any recommendations.

  16. If you haven't ever seen this guy's videos (smartereveryday) before you have to go check him out. Found him a couple years ago and think this might be one of his best videos. I thought I had a pretty good understanding of how carbs work but seeing it visually like he displays it he really hammered it home. Check it out, along with some of his other videos.
