Not sure where you guys are reading that all red sticker bikes will now be green. It’s my understanding that red sticker riding season will never go away. It’s my understanding that everything from today and backwards will remain the same. I can not ride my new 300 injected KTM at Gorman right now. The only thing that is changing is after January 1st, 2022, you either buy a dual sport or it’s a closed course competition bike. Nothing in between. I would love to see some supporting documentation stating differently.

Direct from the Air Resource Board.

My take FWIW. It's kinda like Oceano Dunes/Pismo. The powers that be can't get the place shut down, so they attempt to limit camping on the beach. CA can't get the riding areas shut down, so they'll eliminate the dirt bikes first, then follow it up with quads and then SXSs. If you've got nothing to ride/buy, they dont need to fight the masses to shut down our off road areas.

They are not eliminating anything except for the manufactures to build non Carb legal bike to ride on open public land. Those non Carb bikes are still legal to build, sell & ride. It’s just for private property or sanctioned racing events.

The Red Sticker program was to make it so bikes were not excluded from riding on public lands and to give the manufactures time to build a Carb compliant engine. In many cases they have, in many cases they ignored the plan and now these manufactures have engines that don’t meet the requirements. And like said all 2021 and older Red Stickered bikes all get automatically moved and grandfathered into Green Sticker qualifications.

The only losers are the manufactures who chose over the dozen or so years to not make a Carb legal engine.

  3. It’s not another Enviro grab. Eliminating the Red Sticker program has been in the works for along time. The Red Sticker program was originally a band aid to give the manufactures time to build Carb compliant bikes, that can be “Green Stickered”. But the manufactures chose to ignore concept of a grace period and chose to build purpose built Red Sticker bikes. Now Carb is saying your Red Sticker grace period is over.  None Carb compliant bikes can still be manufactured and sold, but they will have to be track bikes only.

The good news is all 2021 and older Red Sticker bikes are now grandfathered in as Green Sticker bikes now.

  4. I’ve found a couple mice and several gophers. Weird part is I have no evidence of gophers on my property. We do have hawks living in the little forest area behind me, so maybe they are dropping them in the pool? I’ve seen them drop other things on the road, I’m guessing to kill it?  I love the hawks!

I did find ducks late at night or early mornings in the pool. To fix that I put a Trump float in the pool. He hates the Duckacrates. Seriously though the ducks have not come back when he’s in the pool!

  5. Spent the day at Viejas Casino in Alpine so my daughter could race Soap Box Derby. She was the 2019 local Champ and went back to Akron Ohio to race in the World Championship.

Well after a year off due to the Covid shut down, today she raced and won every round of racing, was crowned Queen of the hill for winning all rounds, and got another invitation to Ohio to race in the Championship race.

  6. Not as many as most of you guys, that’s for sure!

RZR (soon to be replaced with Speed UTV)

Baja bug Prerunner (not going anywhere!)

Yamaha 90 kids quad (she’s going to need a bigger one soon)

    Motorhome

Buggy trailer (might need a longer one for Speed car and bigger quad)

Landscape/yard trailer (soon to be sold as all the landscaping & backyard build is almost complete.)

    3 kayaks

Things my wife would like to see gone?
RZR, Baja Bug, quad, trailer(s) & kayaks! Lol!

  7. One thing I would suggest is spend extra and have them shot blast the concrete and put the moisture sealant down. Then do your epoxy floor coating.

When we got our house one of the first things I had done before we moved in was have the garage floors coated. Because I’ll never have an empty garage again. The guys I used came out and put these moisture tests down. I did have what I thought was minor efflorescence in a few spots, and my houses is new enough that the vapor barrier was placed under the garage floors.

Sure enough the 3 test they put down all showed enough moisture that they said they would not do the job without doing a moisture sealant.  I went ahead and had them do it and it was totally worth it. I’ve had no issues, but later after meeting my neighbors, two of them told me they had their floors done and they both have blisters from the moisture. They had no idea there was a product that could have been put down to seal the concrete first. Maybe it was not around at the time?

California Fair Act Plan was what I was told too but was also told it's not cheap.

It’s not. Have a friend in Alpine and he said his insurance policy more then doubled in cost vs what he was paying. I’m pretty sure he’s having to do the two policy thing using the California State fire coverage.

    Good point.

In my case the property tax bill will go up 40% even though the value is only 50k difference. We lived in the house we sold for 13 years and property tax increase limits kept the tax bill lower. Will be paying full boat on the new home at least for a few years.

If the market crashes, and your property lists at a lower value then you paid for it, you can get your property re-assess for a property tax adjustment.
