  1. When I drive a car/truck, I really don't care about my safety like when I ride the Harley (or ANYTHING on the street). I act like there is a high speed police chase going on all the time and the guy they're are chasing can come out of any driveway, roadway, alley, etc at anytime with no hesitation of my life. That has worked perfect....so far!

  2. I guess it went under when Firebird Raceway opened and took over the NHRA Winter Nationals??? Saw this driving by as a kid since the mid 80's, tower stood for a while, I always thought it was a drag strip but wasn't sure as I thought this area was all reservation land. Think there was a skeet shooting range out there also...?  If its not Indian land then it is a prime spot for motorsports as it will never be close to housing..

    What say you...?

  3. East valley. Gilbert, chandler, Tempe, some Mesa would be my top picks and have been here 42 years. queen creek would be a solid choice. San tan valley is too far out I think same with Maricopa,  but could work depending on situation (definitely more bang for your buck).

    as seen from east valley

    pros

    -glamis 3.5-4.5 hours

    - weather, the heat doesn’t have to stop you so you can do anything year round. (I accomplish nothing in summer, but not this year (said every year)

-4 lakes within about an hour drive.

-real big lake about 2-2.5 hours

    -lake powell 5-8 depending

-mountains (7400) 1.5-4 hours depending on which ones.

-snow skiing still open till memorial day this year but decent skiing every year 2.5-3.5 hours depending on mountain.

the gun thing I guess, I’ve just always assumed that was my god damn given right as a law abiding citizen that strides to be a good patriot!!!

-traffic, doesn’t bother me and I drive all over metro Phoenix

-cinders if you’ve never experienced it

-good off-road of all terrains. Az tends to be a pretty rocky state

    -beach, 4.5-6.5 depending

    cons

    -heat

-I-17 going up north. (Something always fawks it up, usually on Sunday coming home. so we never go that way)

-the west side!! Unless you gotta go check out a game

    -homeless is becoming more noticeable.

For me not much more than that. Of course maybe I don’t know what I’m missing elsewhere.  From what I see building is going crazy. It is showing that either you have plenty of money or you have no money out there  with the prices of homes from just a few years ago and from what I hear about rates. I don’t know how a 1st time home buyer is going to start out here anymore.

summers really are inside or water bound.

  4. Not a Tony Hawk fan (do to his personal decisions), but

He was caught holding his infant, with no helmet mind you, while riding his skateboard. A lot of people got on him for that and impressively he came back with "I can skate better than you can walk, why aren't you wearing a helmet???"

When I get on the Harley- no helmet

When I get on a crotch rocket- helmet every time

When I get on dirt bike- helmet every time

when I get in sandcar- no helmet

If I was able to drive my sandcar like it would never break then it would be- helmet every time

For me, it's a state of mind while operating such vehicles.

    Its all relative.

  5. Looking for recommendations for a mobile rv repair guy. Need my battery disconnect switch fixed.

My switch to disconnect the house batteries is lighted. Seems to be stuck in the on position (which is good) when I turn it off I still hear a loud click like before but the switch stays lit and I still have power to everything. What’s weird to me is when I put the switch into the off position and try to start generator (since everything stays live) it just clicks like it’s only getting some voltage. Put the switch to in and generator fires right up. Even weirder is when I disconnect the house batteries altogether I still have power to the house side, assuming from the drive battery some how.

    any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

  6. Quick story(jk)

Last and final HOA I lived in, I had my motorhome that I rented out just about every weekend we weren’t using it. So every Thursday evening I would get it from storage and have it in front of the house for Friday am departure. It would come back on Sunday and be put back in storage early am mondays. We’ll I get a notice and let them know we use it all the time and it’s just there for loading up for the weekend. “We’ll, the Karen comes around every other Friday morning and it’s out there”. Yes, we use it. Ok,she says. Next month I receive a $25 first fine. I call and she says well, sorry the rules state that you can’t park an rv in the neighborhood unless loading or unloading(24hours). I said yeah and what’s the problem? Well she comes around every other Friday morning and it’s out there. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️. She continues to tell me it will be the $25 for first warning and $50/month for every other. Ding!  I said $50/month fine if my motorhome is out there? Yep,she says. Ok well, just go ahead and send me the fine every month and I’ll cancel my storage that’s $100/month.  Radio silence ,, sir you can’t do that! Why not? And if not what are the effin rules? Don’t remember how it ended but I never got a fine and sold the house.

    neighborhood now, 👌🏼

    (everything parked on property)

city code enforcement came by one day and said we gotta a call that the motor home in the drive way was being lived in. We said no. Feel free to check. He said no worries. “We all of sudden got a bunch of calls in this neighborhood of people living in their mohos and trailers in the driveway”. 🤔. Found out a neighbor called and wanted everyone to move their stuff as he was trying to sell his house. Code enforcement said- “so you guys go to the dunes”!  He said no issue here. Sorry to bother you. Have a good day.

  7. Knuckle Eyez -good -sand does still get inside- Had a nice straight away and went to give my goggles a quick flip to get the little bit of sand to jump out, squeezed a little to hard I guess and the lens flipped out of the car!!  Second time I caught it................FWIW

  8. Opened one in Gilbert Az. Go at least once a week. Only 2 complaints. They serve super hot chicken but their biggest drink size is a thimble.. and every time I go to pay in the drive thru they ask if I want to tip them…. I ask where’s the extra service I just get a blank stare….
